We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join this team in the role of Senior Manager, Business Development and Analytics.
Role Puropose
The role holder will work closely with the Country Head of Performance - GCOO, supporting the Head of Banking and their heads of business in the development and implementation of a long-term strategic vision that enables the entire Wholesale business, Corporate & Institutional Banking (“CIB”), to drive revenue growth and meet its strategic objectives. The role covers areas including strategic initiatives, business development activities and sales effectiveness.
- Strategic Initiatives: In-country client coverage lead for priority initiatives such as ASEAN, BRI/China outbound, key corridors;
- Business Development: In-country lead working with the Head of Performance, GCOO to support the Head of Banking, and both coverage and product heads across CIB in business growth activities such as client planning, MasterGroup prioritisation (incl. Whitelisting), product collaboration, sustainable financing, portfolio rationalisation. In-country lead and advocate for the application of Business Intelligence platform (Wallet Opportunity Tracker, Client Coverage Corporate Insights) as a key enabler for business development activities;
- Sales Effectiveness: In-country lead for initiatives that help professionalise our approach to client coverage covering areas such as Sales Enablement (working capital program, AI/Triggers, NTB), Sales Processes (client planning, calling activities) and Sales Management (pipelines, sales & portfolio analytics).
The role holder will also take line management responsibility and oversight for the Business Analytics and Change pillars within Data & Analytics : -
- Support CIB on data requests and data gap analysis where applicable
- Regular static business MI data (performance, CDD, credit risk, regulatory reporting etc)
- Data refresh from data source (CDAW, SAS Datamart, OMNIA etc)
- Performance dashboards - data refresh, enhancements & maintenance
- Engage business to understand use cases, business requirements and conduct business processes analysis and related activities
- Identify and source required data, conduct data modelling and collaborate with data engineers
- Develop new business intelligence or performance MI/Dashboards
- Design & develop automation tool (RPA/Light Automation etc)
- Replicate & customize automation tool developed by other sites
- Support continuous improvement in technology & business processes
Principal Responsibilities
- Delivery in the areas of Strategic Initiatives, Business Development and Sales Effectiveness as outlined above;
- Business Intelligence: Optimise the bank’s Market Intelligence platforms (HORIS, OMNIA, CLIENT VISION, INSIGHT) to identify revenue opportunities in clients by analysing the customers transacting behaviours and pattern in their business operations;
- Produce MI wherever necessary, to provide forward looking performance and KPI tracking to support country leadership in identifying revenue generating opportunities/downside risks to plan or activity trends and forecast analysis, to inform strategic planning and direction, and to maintain focus on key strategies and ensure efficiency and cost effectiveness;
- Engage and coordinate with the Regional Business Development team to ensure alignment and effective implementation of Client Coverage strategies and projects;
- Effectively communicate strategic insights to In-country RM teams to tactically support growth and revenue generation;
- Promote best practice and support customer relationship management through application of Business Intelligence/RM tools and processes;
- Lead in forums and committees to represent the view of the Business Development function, informing and influencing the decision making of senior leaders to enable achievement of the defined strategy outcomes;
- Maintain and observe HSBC control standards, implement and observe Group Compliance Policy, including the timely implementation of recommendations made by internal/external auditors and external regulators.
- Line management responsibility, including performance assessment, personal development and general coaching
Requirements
- Min experience of 10 -15 years of customer analytics experience in the area of product management and/or marketing.
- Working knowledge of using Python, SQL, SAS, Google BigQuery/Data Studio, VBA, Qliksense or similar analytically oriented programming languages.
- Solid technical skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge in other business intelligence or analytics tools will be advantageous.
- Proficient in various customer analytics methodologies.Good statistics knowledge, strong business acumen, technical skills and leadership.
- Must be innovative and possess an open minded to design various landscape of analytics deliverables.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal/negotiation skills and a team player with an energetic and flexible working style. Able to interact and present to senior management in very high confidence level.
- Excellent planning/organization skills, good time-management and has strong follow-through abilities and attention to detail.Ability to lead a team and drive the team to fulfil the objectives and directions of the team.
