We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Relationship Manager - Support (Corporate Real Estate).
Principal Responsibilities:
- To assist the Senior Relationship Manager to manage and grow his/her designated portfolio of corporate accounts.
- To support on business development opportunities to contribute in terms of account strategy and assist in the implementation of account strategies and collaborate with the Relationship Manager in meeting the growth targets from existing and new-to bank clients.
- To support the Relationship Manager to negotiate for, structure and present credit proposals to meet the specialised requirements of each new/existing Prime Commercial Banking relationship, with the objective of winning the facility approval and drawdown, thereby maximising revenue whilst protecting/preserving credit quality.
- To be the secondary point of contact for the Relationship Manager and is able to effectively manage the portfolio in the absence of the Relationship Manager.
- To initiate meetings and collaborate effectively with product partners & other stakeholders to promote needs-based selling and maximising HSBC’s share of the customer’s wallet (with minimal guidance)
- To be a team player and to assist other Relationship Managers including (but not limited to) handling customer queries, operational matters, preparing credit proposals & memos and provide guidance to the other Assistant Relationship Managers.
- To build relationship with clients and hold conversations with senior stakeholders including senior management and WCR on the portfolio related matters. (with minimal guidance)
- To maintain HSBC internal control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators
Requirements:
- A recognized tertiary Degree qualification
- Minimum of Five (5) years proven and progressive financial services experience or equivalent
- Strong banking and credit knowledge with minimum 5 to 10 years and has demonstrated proficiency in his/her role as an Assistant Relationship Manager.
- Demonstrate strong determination and drive in their career development and to pursue more business development function to compliment achieving the overall strategies within the business; in addition to sharpening existing credit skills.
- Strong marketing and sales management, planning, organising credit and analytical skills.
- Quick learner who is able to work independently with little or minimum guidance and is expected to be able to guide the other Assistant Relationship Managers within the team.
- Familiarity with various credit and lending systems within Commercial Banking and strong understanding on the banking products is a must for this role.
