In International Wealth and Premier Banking we serve 41 million customers globally, including 6.7 million who are international, from retail customers to ultra high net worth individuals and their families. We help our customers look after their day-to-day finances and manage, protect and grow their wealth. Retail Banking plays a crucial role in executing the International Wealth and Premier Banking strategy, providing strategic advice, frameworks and guidance to markets, that ensure all customer journeys, products and services are sustainable, inclusive and built with customers at the heart. Retail Banking brings together a united retail business, made up of the following global teams: Segments, Retail Products, Shared Services Contact Centre, Distribution and Enablers spanning Customer Experience, Marketing, Data and Analytics, Business Architecture, Sustainability and Inclusion for International Wealth and Premier Banking.
Role Purpose
This role carries a strategic mandate to strengthen HSBC Amanah’s market position and visibility in Islamic Wealth Banking, with a primary focus on acquiring New-to-Bank customers within the Premier and Affluent segments, particularly the Bumi segment. The incumbent is responsible for driving sustainable business growth outcomes, including Net New Money (NNM) and Net New Invested Assets (NNIA), by delivering compelling value propositions, identifying market opportunities, and ensuring a competitive and comprehensive Islamic wealth offering. Also plays a critical role in ensuring products remain competitive, Shariah‑compliant, operationally efficient, and aligned with customer needs and regulatory expectations.
The role acts as a key connector across Segment, Wealth, Product, and Distribution teams to translate market insights into commercial results (customer acquisition, AUM growth, and engagement).
Principal Accountabilities
1. Strategic Proposition Development and Segment Growth
- Formulate and execute strategies to deepen engagement with the Bumi Premier segment, focusing on Islamic wealth needs.
- Identify proposition and product gaps and recommend new offerings or enhancements to capture untapped market opportunities.
- Provide insights on market trends, customer behaviour, and competitor activity to guide product positioning and strategy.
2. Product Lifecycle Management & Continuous Improvement
- Assess market trends, competitor offerings, and customer behaviour to identify product and proposition gaps. To ensure continued relevance, competitiveness, and alignment with segment strategy
- Work with Wealth and Product teams to develop and deliver solutions for Premier and Affluent segments, particularly the Bumi segment
- Ensure the product suite is complete, competitive, and aligned to customer needs.
- Conduct periodic reviews of existing products to enhance, reposition, or rationalise offerings for better commercial outcomes.
- Identify opportunities to simplify, enhance, or integrate products within the broader IWPB portfolio.
3. Stakeholder Collaboration, Governance & Execution
- Collaborate with Wealth, Product, Distribution, Risk, Shariah, and Compliance teams to ensure effective delivery of initiatives.
- Ensure adherence to Shariah governance and regulatory requirements for all propositions and product enhancements.
- Support implementation by driving alignment, readiness, and issue resolution across stakeholders.
4. Performance Monitoring and Reporting
- Track and monitor performance of initiatives across NNM, NNIA, and acquisition metrics.
- Provide timely updates, insights, and recommendations to management.
- Prepare and present performance reviews and recommendations.
- Continuously evaluate effectiveness of strategies and refine approaches to optimise outcomes

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in Islamic Wealth product management
- Proven track record in product development, process improvement, and project delivery with strong understanding of Islamic contracts
- Sound understanding of regulatory and Shariah governance requirements for Islamic financial institutions.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
