We are now inviting qualified individuals to join this team in the role of Global Markets Product Control Manager (Valuation Control).
 

Principal Responsibilities:

1. Leading a team and overseeing:

  • Profit & Loss (P&L) analysis of complex derivatives and structured deposits/notes business;
  • Valuation control of complex derivatives;
  • OCS curve analysis and P&L computation of OCS;
  • Analytical review of trader activity;
  • Day 1 P&L analysis of structured desk trades;
  • Preparing management reporting of structured desk portfolio and providing support to Chief Accounting Officer (CAO) team for financial reporting.

2. Coordinating new product due diligence for Global Markets (GM) from a Product Control perspective;

3. Plan, coordinate and implement new efficiency initiatives or systems involving Product Control.

4. Supporting GM by providing product control and finance advice, and carrying out analysis of the business.

5. Maintain HSBC internal control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators.       

Qualifications:

  • Possess a degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with experience of successfully influencing others and negotiating effectively.
  • A good understanding of Treasury products (especially derivatives), and their accounting implications. Having experience in Product Control and/or Treasury Finance is an advantage.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and interacts well with all levels of staff and stakeholders. Experience in leading a team successfully in meeting their objectives is an advantage.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Able to deliver within tight deadlines.
  • High computer literacy and systems aptitude; must be adept in using Excel. Experience with Treasury systems and programming language is an advantage.
