We are now inviting qualified individuals to join this team in the role of Associate, Credit Analysis Unit
Role Purpose
- Analyse financial statements of CIB borrowers and provide advice on their financial standing and identify key risk areas.
- Prepare credit proposals and conduct annual/interim reviews. The proposal should include key credit issues as well as Credit Analysis Unit’s independent review of each credit application. Where necessary, conduct research on industry trends and statistics for benchmarking against peers and enhance the value of financial analysis.
- Prepare cash flow forecasts and sensitivity analysis to establish the debt repayment capacity.
- Support Credit Analysis Unit (CAU) within Sector Alignment, manage workflow to ensure that all work done onshore and offshore is delivered within agreed timeframes and meets the required quality standard.
Principal Accountabilities
- Coordinate execution of credit related activities across the spectrum of CIB products/service.
- Build the CIB franchise value/reputation in the market.
- Drive achievement against targets for revenue generation, product alignment, customer satisfaction and cost containment.
- Identify event driven opportunities on an opportunistic basis, bringing in sector/country expertise as appropriate.
- Aggressively grow HSBC’s share of client wallet involving product specialists to ensure product capabilities are in line with client/sector requirements.
- Actively seek to maximise relationship returns from both existing & prospective clients.
- Actively coordinate and promote local as well as regional initiatives
- Credit Reviews / Proposals KRIs must remain always green for all risk classifications and countries.
- Maintain ‘Trusted Advisor’ relationship and access at key decision maker level for assigned clients.
- Undertake all required activities as directed by line manager or as agreed in annual objectives in support of the furtherment of the CIB business.
- Work closely with Product Partners and Coverage teams in region and globally.
- Maintain a high standard of credit quality and analysis. Ensure that the Group's exposure to the Sector and associated systemic risks are appropriately monitored and controlled.
- Ensuring that adverse reports and news on existing clients are followed up. Reviewing and following up on exception reports, as well as internal and external audit reports
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification with 3 – 5 years relevant banking experience
- Strong credit management and credit risk analysis experience
- Track record of building & developing long term relationships including at key decision maker level for all clients.
- Ability to develop a strategic dialogue with the client on a multi-dimensional basis.
- Knowledge of industry and exposure to market and regulatory environment
- Understanding of risk management and risk mitigation.
- Possess solid understanding of credit issues, ability to handle complex and numerical analysis, keeping abreast of industry developments.
- An excellent and professional communicator with strong oral and written skills.
- A highly motivated and pro-active self-starter, able to work independently under minimal supervision.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work under tight deadlines.
