We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our HSBC Amanah team in the role of Associate, Amanah Wholesale Banking
Role Profile
Amanah Wholesale Banking (AWB) has a joint responsibility with Global Markets (GM) in managing HSBC Amanah Malaysia Berhad (HBMS)’ business within the ambit of GM. In relation to HBMS GM business, AWB will work jointly with GM on the overall business development and management of HBMS GM business. The ultimate ownership of the HBMS GM products remains with GM.
Principal Responsibilities
Business Development & Management
Assisting GM in development and management of HBMS GM business which includes (but not limited to):
- providing and executing strategic direction/initiatives on overall business development for HBMS GM
- where required, to represent HBMS in internal committees, forums and board of directors’ meetings in relation to GM business
- to liaise with the regulators (BNM, Securities Commission, etc) and other external parties/industry bodies on matters related to HBMS GM business
- to represent HBMS at industry forums and/or discussions on new product development or any industry-led initiatives
Product Development & Management
AWB manages the development of new and maintain existing HBMS GM products in accordance to the relevant regulatory and HSBC guidelines. Development & management works include (but not limited to):
- identification of products to be developed, managed & reviewed
- preparing product write-up
- setting up & updating operational processes
- developing & update the product documentation
- providing initial product & refresher training to GM dealers
- Obtaining the required approvals (both internal and external), inclusive of Shariah approvals, if required
- assisting GM in both Shariah audit and review (inclusive of pre and post product launch review)
Product Marketing
AWB will provide marketing support to GM in the offering of HBMS GM products. Marketing support would include (but not limited to):
- meeting clients for the purpose of originating new transactions for HBMS GM products
- preparing generic marketing materials for HBMS GM products
- promoting HBMS GM products through external engagements such as media interviews, press conference, conference, forums, seminars and awards nomination
Transaction Support
AWB will provide transaction support for the offering of HBMS GM products which include (but not limited to):
- assisting GM in preparation of marketing materials specific to the transaction
- assisting GM in documentation negotiation
- assisting GM in obtaining required internal approvals for the purpose of transaction
- guiding treasury operations on the transaction execution (especially operational processes
- that are critical to maintaining shariah compliance) and
- assisting GM in post transaction review by Shariah department.
Others
In addition to the abovementioned joint responsibilities with GM, the candidate is expected to undertake the following functions for AWB:
- to lead and manage the overall Government Guarantee Schemes (GGS) initiatives offered by CGC and/or SJPP
- to keep abreast with the latest updates on GGS offerings and its product criteria and parameters
- to work closely with the coverage team within HSBC Malaysia in identifying and originating GGS related financing opportunities
- to monitor the pipeline, utilisation and performance of GGS-related financing facilities
Requirement:
- Minimum of 5 years of corporate/commercial banking experience
- Direct experience in Global Markets and Treasury related business is a significant advantage
- Possess strong analytical skills
- Strong written and oral English communication skills, including presentation skills
- Team player with good interpersonal skills
