We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join our team in the role of Assistant Manager, Customer Due Diligence.

Role purpose

The Global Standards Programme is focused on developing and implementing enhanced Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Know Your Customer (KYC) processes consistently across the Group in order to meet regulatory commitments. The programme is aim to enhance the WPB customers on-going due diligence capability from identifying Financial Crime Risk to mitigating the risks with the appropriate controls in place. To improve the CDD and KYC capabilities, the CDD Middle Office Team has been set up within the Business Financial Crime Risk within IWPB. The job holder is responsible to ensure that the CDD review, and remediation of FCCRAM High Risk/PEP/SCC and Medium and Low Risk customers are completed with high-quality standard and within the agreed timelines.

Principal Responsibilities

  • To coordinate the SCC/PEP classification for New to bank (NTB) customers and initiate customer contact where required through the appropriate front line staff.
  • To conduct Source of Wealth (SoW), Source of Fund (SoF) and transaction activity reviews where judgment is required.
  • To manage the periodic reviews (quarterly /annual reviews) of Highest Risk PEPs.
  • To support BFCR CDD Lead Manager in any other CDD remediation projects where required.
  • To conduct commercial reviews on FCCRAM High Risk/PEP/SCC customers to ensure the cost of Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) is justified.
  • To ensure compliance with any regulatory and Group Standards / Policy requirement.
  • To support the incident management processes such as recording, reporting , investigation and escalation.
  • Understand, follow up and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures that apply to the conduct of HBMY RBWM business in which the BRCM is involved.
  • Proactively taking measures to continuously support RBWM business in achieving the business targets whilst maintaining satisfactory compliance culture.
  • To manage and refresh high risk customers register, track the status for each customer.
  • Compile daily/monthly and weekly reports for senior management reporting
  • Support as Department Retention Coordinator as well as monitoring of deceased accounts for continuous control monitoring
  • Other ad-hoc requests for system access/report enhancements/up-liftments etc

Requirements

  • Minimum a Bachelor’s degree in business, law or any related field is required
  • Above 3 years of working experience in banking industry  
  • Good knowledge in banking, in particular on customer KYC, identifying potential SCC / PEPs and Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions
  • Lateral thinking, analytical thinking, ability to put dots together
  • Quick learner, ability to transfer knowledge, able to work under pressure
  • Proficient in MS office
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to a wide range of individuals and groups and at different levels of seniority
  • Self-starter with attention to details combined with strong delivery focus and ability to meet aggressive timeframes with quality results
  • Ability to work in a pressurised environment and manage continually changing priorities effectively
