Group Functions Technology Department brings together all areas of financial crime risk management at HSBC including anti-money laundering: transaction monitoring, screening, risk assessment etc. and is dedicated to implement the most effective global standards to combat financial crime.

Risk & Compliance technology design and deploy cutting edge technology to defend the bank and its customers from Sanctions Risk, Financial Crime Risk, Identity Threat, Unauthorised Trading and Market Abuse & Regulatory Sanctions, as well as supporting Enterprise Risk Management.  We provide the systems that enable our global businesses to grow through data-driven, pro-active risk management.

What you’ll do 

•    Work with the Product Owner to understand stakeholder requirements
•    Responsible for building and managing data processing components and storage technologies
•    Responsible for onboarding new data sources and constructing data processing pipelines to present required views of data for application developers
•    Work with Data Scientists to productionise proactively developed analytics
•    Ensure that development is undertaken in line with continuous integration and test-driven development philosophies and that code quality standards and processes are adhered to.
•    Work with Architects to both validate designs and ensure adherence to the agreed approach
•    Carry out unit testing to ensure the quality of delivered components

What you need to have to succeed in this role
 
•    8+ Year experience in Software development.
•    Proven Experience in Micro service-based architecture.
•    Demonstrable experience from Cloud Service Providers – GCP or other cloud providers potentially considered.
•    Hands-on experience in Java (or equivalent) including proven experience of spring framework including but not limited to Messaging/Data/Core/batch modules.
•    Strong knowledge of Rest-API, Messaging, Multi-Threading, XML, JSON and Similar Web technologies. 
•    Hands on experience in Elastic, Hadoop, MySQL, experience in Scripting: Bash / Python and strong understanding of CD/CI – Jenkins & Ansible, Git
•    Good knowledge of web development (Java EE, HTML, JS & CSS) and frameworks integrating with Java/Rest services – React, Material UI
