Role Profile
The Senior Product Manager, Product Solutions, takes responsibility for delivering assigned Programme / Project Outcomes against Securities Services core Strategy of Stabilise, Scale and Transform. Key responsibilities including client engagement are: -
Responsibilities:
• Align client outcomes to target strategic models working with Product verticals such as Custody, Fund Administration and Operations colleagues as well as the wider Product Solutions Programmes to support programme delivery proactively, balancing scope, schedule, interdependencies, budget and risks
• Drive / support programme delivery proactively, balancing scope, schedule, interdependencies, budget and risks
• Assisting business stakeholders with the decomposition of complex business requirements into Epics and User Stories that can be delivered by Technology teams via respective backlogs with minimum cross product co-ordination
• Managing / supporting relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Drive / support the use of Agile methodologies within Technology teams (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, Lean) in line with corresponding transformation frameworks at the bank
• Supporting of senior Project / Programme mangers across all stages of the initiative lifecycle to deliver larger / more complex / high priority Programmes & Projects
• Lead / support definition of staffing / resourcing, responsibilities and schedules
• Lead / support the establishment of effective programme controls and procedures
• Drive / support the adoption of HSBC standards and work in alignment with Change framework at all times.
• Manage / support the development and promotion of the technology portfolio and project management practices
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in business, finance or related discipline.
• Strong project experience applying proven methodologies, standards and tools in the preparation of analysis, Business Requirements, User Acceptance Testing, and deployments.
• Understanding of concepts of Custody, Fund Administration, Middle Office Trade Processing, Derivatives Management, Corporate Actions, Reconciliation, Data Provision or Cash Management.
• Knowledge and exposure of market initiatives across business components and the funds industry.
• Proven Change Management experience.
• Must be able to work independently. Must have strong process re-engineering and problem solving skills, and be self-directed.
• Experience working in a large, Global Project Team would be advantageous in this role.
• The role will have a high business content and will naturally involve considerable exposure to global business users as well as IT Analysts so the role holder must have pertinent product/area knowledge. In addition, the role holder will need to work with any vendor’s project resources, HSBC IT support technicians/project personnel as per assigned projects
• Strong inter-personal and communication skills; must be capable of producing clear, unambiguous status reports, writing detailed reports, minutes and actions, making presentations to internal audiences, and interacting positively with IT and business management, users, vendors and HSS Group PMO
• Must be familiar with fundamental networking/distributed computing environment concepts and configuration, i.e. have a reasonable grasp of the underlying technology supporting the business.
• Proficiency in the creation of critical path project plans, workflow diagrams, production of functional specifications, and the development/execution of detailed test plans is essential.
• Advanced skills in use of JIRA/ Confluence, Clarity, MS Project, Visio and MS Office software is expected.
