We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Senior Manager, Financial Crime Business Banking.
In this role you will:
- Supporting Head of Financial Crime, Business Banking to advise Business Banking (i.e. SME clients) on financial crime-related matters including articulating the risks faced by the segment in relation to their clients, products and operational processes.
- Providing risk stewardship and oversight of financial crime risk exposures in Business Banking based on the ongoing thematic reviews and assessments from FC investigative perspective; providing analysis, reporting and governance independent of the first line of defence
- Providing risk stewardship and oversight of the critical controls effectiveness, including policies, systems and procedures relating to financial crime: ensuring the Business Banking’s exposure to financial crime and related reputational risk is managed, in a commercially sensitive, practical and cost-effective manner, in line with the stated Business Banking Financial Crime Risk Appetite.
- Representing the financial crime risk agenda through relevant governance forums and / or reporting in relation to the effectiveness of the policies, processes, systems and controls in countering financial crime risk across the BB segment.
To be successful you will need:
Knowledge and Experience:
- Strong understanding of financial crime risk areas and threats inherent in providing banking products and services.
- Knowledge of the commercial banking industry and portfolio risk management, including its products, services and operational processes.
- Degree holder (or equivalent) with demonstrated analytical (qualitative and quantitative) and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with AI adoption and development, and data analytics (e.g., interpretation and transformation of data sets; delivering intelligence insights from raw data; producing effective and innovative data visualisations).
- Knowledge of regulatory requirement on CDD & KYC process, and the dynamics of risk landscape of SME banking.
Skills and abilities:
- Insight and analysis skills: demonstrated ability to analyse a large volume of information and/or data and proactively produce insight to support leadership decisioning and the management of complex and changing circumstances
- Strong stakeholder management skills: experience of negotiating matrix, cross-functional and globally located teamwork. Proven ability to build valued relationships with strong influencing and communication skills.
- Executive reporting: ability to analyse, summarise and present issues concisely to senior and/or key stakeholders using executive language and high-quality wording
- Sensible ability to strike a balance between risk and business to enable Business Banking to grow safely amid risk environments.
