We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Risk and Control Manager.

 

In this role you will:

  • Support Business Risk Management Framework related initiatives and effectively manage the material operational risks for the Company
  • Undertake Risk and Control Assessments, including risk scenario setting, risk impact assessment, establishment of controls and guiding the first line on control design and operating effectiveness.
  • Support the first line in trigger event management including risk identification, risk impact and process / controls assessment.
  • Facilitate and advise control owners in developing control monitoring plan and documenting continuous control monitoring results.
  • Design test plans and conduct thematic reviews on functional procedures or new initiatives to assess operational readiness
  • Guide and advise the first line in issue and incident management, impact assessments, root cause analysis and effective remediation activities.
  • Support the Risk and Control Head in the preparation of governance materials to be presented to First Line of Defense Forum, Executive Committee Meeting, Risk Management Meeting, and the Board.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in first, second and third lines of defense.

 

To be successful you will need:

  • Degree holder
  • Prior experience within risk and control areas, or similar first line or second line of defence role within HSBC or with other insurers
  • Strong knowledge of banking and insurance industry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence to interact with varying levels of seniority
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Quick learner with ability to adapt working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Organized and autonomous with great sense of ownership
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint skills. Possess skill in writing VBA Macros in excel is an advantage.
  • Proven ability to identify, assess, and mitigate risks related to data and artificial intelligence, alongside experience in establishing robust governance frameworks, is an added advantage.
