We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as Head of Wealth Insurance Distribution and Academy.

 

 

Job Profile

 

The Head of RBW Wealth Insurance Distribution is a senior leadership role within HSBC Life Hong Kong (INHK) and a key business driver for International Wealth and Premier Banking (IWPB) Insurance. Reporting to the Chief Distribution Officer (CDO), the role is integral to INHK’s bancassurance distribution model and serves as the primary point of contact for the Bank’s Retail Banking & Wealth (RBW) channel. The role holder will lead a team of Business Development Managers and supporting resources to build a future-ready distribution model, working closely with RBW channel owners (including Retail Distribution) and INHK stakeholders such as Product, Medical & Health, Underwriting, Operations, and Second Line of Defence functions to deliver sustainable growth and fair customer outcomes.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Drive sustainable and profitable RBW wealth insurance growth, market share / penetration and achievement against FRP and other targets while effectively deliver fair customer outcomes / experiences, manage financial and non-financial risk, and uphold highest standard in audit, legal and regulatory requirements / compliance
  • Proactively develop, direct and enhance INHK customer-centric strategy, sales journeys and initiatives, by channelling frontline / customer / business stakeholders voices / requests into tangible improvements, building innovative distribution model to expand business opportunities and deepen product penetration etc.
  • Lead the design and continuous improvement of RBW wealth insurance sales processes, ensuring they’re customer-centric, streamlined and efficient while fully compliant with all regulatory, audit and internal governance requirements.
  • Oversee distribution process governance across all channels, ensuring controls and documentation up to date with the latest regulatory requirements, partnering with Compliance/Risk/Legal and Operations to implement changes, monitor adherence and remediate gaps.
  • Lead the Business Development Manager team to drive retail personal business performance by identifying growth opportunities and boosting salesforce productivity through tailored coaching (including pre-/post-case and joint-call support), new-joiner activation and structured onboarding, while fostering a sales-excellence culture via timely market insights and new product updates to maximise people value.

 

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of senior leadership and people management experiences and capabilities in the insurance / banking / financial industry and reputable large organizations
  • Strong strategic mindset to capture opportunities and navigate complexities in a highly competitive environment, to sustain INHK market leadership
  • Extensive knowledge of bancassurance business, retail customer segments and latest industry developments, to proactively identify sensitivities / risks, come up with tangible solutions
  • Relentlessly committed with vision and passion to drive effective and innovative distribution strategy and people initiatives that underpin it
  • Proven track record to build trust with and influence senior stakeholder groups to achieve desired outcome
  • Experienced in developing and motivating a high performing, resilient and agile team to take actions
  • University Degree in Business / Finance or other relevant disciplines/qualifications. Proficiency in Cantonese, English and Mandarin
