We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Head of Private Bank Insurance Distribution.

 

In this role you will:

  • Achieve budgeted New Business Premium (NBP) and Annualized Premium (ANP) for GPB Insurance channels, including both in-house and broker.
  • Drive manufacturing revenue growth through external channels and increase GPB contributions to INHK revenue. Optimize product mix and reduce dependency on core channels for sustainable growth.
  • Lead a team of Business Development Managers (BDMs) and collaborate with GPB frontline to provide onsite support for GPB’s in-house model’s customer engagement and sales activities.
  • Pipeline managemen. Provide necessary support to optimize distribution channel capabilities and enhance sales force effectiveness. Partner with the INHK Customer and Marketing team to develop and execute marketing and commercialization plans for HNW business growth. Build strong relationships with GPB (primary) and brokers (secondary).
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders (e.g., IT, transformation, 2LoD) to integrate enhancements into the GPB Insurance business. Proactively conduct regular meetings with key stakeholders to address progress, deliverables, and decisions. 
  • Demonstrate leadership in Regulatory and Compliance matters, maintaining awareness of operational risks and minimizing their occurrence.
  • Support the HNW and Corporate Insurance Distribution team and the broader CDO team in driving sales initiatives, identifying business opportunities, and managing updates for CDO, CEO, and Group Insurance functions.
  • Ensure risks are identified, assessed, mitigated, and controlled in alignment with HSBC Group FIM and GSM requirements. Maintain HSBC’s internal control standards, ensuring timely implementation of audit points and addressing issues raised by regulators. Comply with HSBC IFIM and GSM requirements.

 

To be successful you will need:

  • Significant years of experience within a large and complex insurance organization.
  • Extensive experience in life insurance sales, product management, and project management.
  • Proven expertise in business development through Broker, IFA, or affiliate channels.
  • Strong understanding of operational aspects within financial services.
  • Demonstrated success in managing business partners and insurance industry stakeholders in the Hong Kong market.
  • Marketing or business degree and/or equivalent professional qualifications.
