Business Architect - International Wealth & Premier Banking

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as a Business Architect.

In this role you will:

• Support and govern change over Market/Global Value Stream Future State Architecture (FSA), ensuring strategic alignment and in-scope journeys/channels.
• Support leadership decision-making by producing high-quality artefacts in coordination with stakeholders, including maintenance of core architecture reference data: IWPB Business Services in the Group Service Catalogue, journey taxonomy, and market inventories; own the change request/governance process.
• Coordinate with Global and Market stakeholders to keep Global FSA/Market architecture strategies current, including reflecting appropriate target states, reprioritizing gaps and updating cost estimates.
• Attend Technology and Business Architecture decision forums; prepare materials and minutes, drive action follow-ups (including exec escalations), and promote capability reuse to minimize unnecessary product variation.
• Provide Business Architecture support to teams and projects: respond to ad hoc queries, gather business inputs, map services/processes, and build/update blueprints to improve efficiency.
• Deliver on key HSBC Group-level business architecture priorities, maintain consistently high-quality outputs across all activities and act as an advocate for the Architecture team, supporting building the understanding of stakeholders in the virtues of architecture approach to change delivery.
• Collaborate across IWPB Business Architecture, Technology Architecture, and Group Business Architecture; and support value streams with timely architecture decisions to accelerate capability delivery.
• Promote a strategic, pragmatic, customer-centered culture—balancing short- and long-term outcomes while meeting change standards and risk/compliance requirements.

To be successful you will need:

• Broad understanding of IWPB business and markets (products, competition, regulation, digital/innovation trends), and agile ways of working, value streams, and Business Architecture frameworks.
• Digital transformation and change delivery capability, focused on strategy and design development.
• Ability to understand complex business/technology problems and design solutions to address these, and think laterally on a pragmatic approach; understanding of technical design of digital capabilities across the layers of the technology stack.
• Strong analytical skills—able to extract insight from imperfect data, ability to get into the details while understanding the big picture.
• Commercial judgement and pragmatic problem-solving while evaluating architecture decisions; able to bring clarity to ambiguous situations and problems.
• Effective governance and executive support: define, establish and communicate new/improved governance processes, create executive presentations to support decision making, and coordinate and/or lead decision-making forums.
• Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and stakeholder management in a global, matrix environment (i.e. across time zones, cultures, geographies and with remote teams); able to influence as needed senior Leaders as needed.
• Delivery-focused and collaborative: able to work independently on multiple priorities, work proactively under pressure, demonstrate strong teamwork, and bring a positive, inclusive, can-do mindset. Familiarity with tooling such as Jira and Confluence will be beneficial.
