Role Profile
Global Trustee and Fiduciary Services is part of the Markets and Securities Services business, which acts independently of other business lines to ensure the best interests of fund investors are met and aligned with independent fiduciary obligations.
The GTFS Product and Risk Governance role is a key member of the Global Trustee and Fiduciary Services team responsible for the implementation and management of the Product and Risk governance framework, driving the sustainable and scalable development of the Product Strategy and Roadmap within the evolving risk environment. The job holder must work closely with colleagues across Asia and Europe to ensure that the strategic change and risk mitigating initiatives to the GTFS Product and Operations delivered to meet the evolving needs of the business. The job holder will also be expected to engage with the different Products within Securities Services.
As with all product roles, the ability of the jobholder to work effectively and in partnership with the global entities in the business is a key success factor.
Responsibilities:
Product Strategy and Roadmap
- Assist with the development of a strategy and associated roadmap for GTFS.
- Ensure product strategy aligns with HSBC’s overall business objectives and SSv’s goals and having an investment plan to mitigate risk environment of GTFS.
- Identify new and enhanced global product opportunities, providing input to market/product strategy initiatives, align product roadmaps with market needs and corporate vision.
Product and Risk Governance
- Establish and strengthen product governance policies for GTFS, in lockstep with the overall SSv governance framework.
- Enhance documentation and oversight of risks governing the GTFS global offering, taking into consideration legacy contracting arrangement and evolving regulatory environment
- Facilitate and keep record of product changes and new product launch approvals.
- Work with the product managers within GTFS and across SSV to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and industry standards. Ensure documentations are well stored for audits and compliance reporting.
- Maintain up to date standard product artifacts including Target Standard Model, Product Catalogues, standard pricings and client sales material.
- Maintain an awareness of market and competitor developments and position and differentiate the Funds offering relative to the competition.
- Drive the completion of remediation exercises to ensure the management and mitigation of risks
Sales and Business Development Support
- Work closely with the Sales and Business Development team on various client pitches, RFPs, due diligence meetings and other discussions/negotiations
- Produce and update marketing and sales collateral on an ongoing basis
- Active involvement in industry award submissions, surveys, pitches and other market-related initiatives
- Engage with top clients on product proposition / requirements and take feedback as input into product development
- Provide support for client onboarding, where required, from a product perspective (e.g. operating model design, solutions to bespoke requirements etc.)
Knowledge, Experience & Qualifications
- Knowledge of the securities market and the associated market infrastructure preferred.
- A thorough understanding of the funds industry and in particular Fund Services and Trustee product, as well as an appreciation of the evolving regulatory environment will be highly beneficial.
