Associate Actuarial Director, HKRBC and Economic Capital

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Associate Actuarial Director, HKRBC and Economic Capital.

Under the Actuarial Director, HKRBC and Economic Capital, lead a team to deliver accurate and timely HKRBC and Economic Capital actuarial production and financial analytics, including robust controls and clear movement analysis to support reporting and decision-making.

In this role you will:

• HKRBC production and submissions: Lead day-to-day delivery of HKRBC calculations, analysis, and financial disclosures – coordinating inputs, reviews and timelines.
• Results analysis and movement commentary: Deliver analysis and commentary on key movements and prepare sensitivities and stress scenario impacts to support management reporting and decisions.
• Economic Capital delivery: Deliver Economic Capital reporting for assigned scope – ensure outputs align with Group governance requirements.
• Controls and audit readiness: Execute and enhance controls across data, assumptions, model changes and outputs – maintain audit-ready documentation and support timely closure of findings.
• Team delivery oversight: Manage and coach junior actuaries/ analysts – plan and allocate work, set quality expectations and ensure delivery to agreed milestones.
• Stakeholder management: Maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders to align expectations, coordinate delivery and ensure consistent, well-governed outcomes across reporting cycles.
• Policy documentation: Maintain local documentation for actuarial capital policy implementation; align interpretations with relevant stakeholders and embed changes into processes.
• Process improvement and automation: Identify and implement improvements to reduce manual effort and operational risk – support automation/visualization initiatives to improve efficiency and transparency.
• Project and ad-hoc support: Support capital-related projects and initiatives and provide ad-hoc analysis and input as required.

To be successful you will need:

• Relevant experience in actuarial capital, or financial reporting roles. Candidates with less experience may be considered for Manager, HKRBC and Economic Capital, subject to relevant capability and experience.
• Qualified actuary (Fellow of SOA or other recognized actuarial body) or near-qualified with a clear qualification plan.
• Strong analytical skills and structured problem-solving – comfortable working with complex models and large datasets.
• Proven delivery focus with strong planning and prioritization in a fast-paced environment.
• Effective communicator with experience presenting technical outcomes to non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a small team or workstream and influence across functions.
