Actuarial Manager

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an Actuarial Manager .
In this role you will:
- Participating Fund Management & Treating Customer Fairly (TCF) Leadership:
- Prepare and review on par fund-related matters, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and fair customer outcomes
- Assist to enhance transparency, governance, and performance of participating funds
- Monitor and assess risks related to par funds, ensuring alignment with TCF principles
- Committee & Governance:
- Prepare meeting materials and regular management information reporting for senior management and committees
- Perform analytical review on participating dividend sustainability and capital initiatives etc
- Support the manager and chief actuary to make policyholder dividend recommendations
- Team Leadership & Collaboration:
- Provide support and supervise work for junior team members
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on par fund strategies
- Regulatory & Industry Best Practices:
- Ensure adherence to GL34 and other current or future Par fund management regulations where applicable
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in par fund management
- Support on other ad hoc projects
To be successful you will need:
- Extensive experience in an actuarial role, University degree holder in Actuarial Science, Statistics or related discipline
- Good progress with actuarial exams
- Strong writing and communication skills, with a track record of drafting board papers, executive reports is an advantage
- Ability to engage with senior stakeholders and present complex information clearly
- Knowledge of GL34 regulations
- Proven experience in participating fund management in life insurance companies
- Qualified Actuaries preferred
- Familiarity with HSBC’s par fund management principles
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Strong governance and compliance mindset
- Attention to detail and analytical skills
