Job description

We are currently seeking a high calibre professional to join our team as an AI Tooling Risk and Control Manager.

In this role you will:

  • Risk & Controls Subject Matter Expert (Product-Embedded): Act as the embedded risk and controls liaison for Productivity Suite—identifying key inherent risks (e.g., model safety, privacy, conduct, operational resilience, third-party, and reputational) and ensuring effective, practical controls are designed into product delivery.
  • Risk, Audit and Second Line Engagement & Outcomes: Assist in building a strong working relationships with Audit, Compliance, Data Privacy, Cyber, Legal, Model Risk, and other control functions; run structured engagements to secure timely guidance, challenge, and approvals needed to launch and operate features.
  • Governance, Documentation & Evidence: Assist in producing and maintaining the documentation needed to demonstrate safe and responsible operation of the tool (e.g., control mappings, risk assessments, governance updates, feature-level risk packs, and launch readiness evidence).
  • Delivery Enablement (Pace with Control): Collaborate with Product Owners, Engineering, and Customer Success to embed controls into the backlog and delivery process, enabling speed without surprises—so launches are “compliant by design”, not “approved after the fact”.
  • Communication: Clearly explain our risk position, how well our controls are working, and any regulatory impacts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Reporting & MI: Assist in preparing regular reporting on key risk and control metrics, feature readiness, regulatory engagement status, and key deliverables to relevant governance forums and senior stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify opportunities to simplify controls, strengthen assurance, and improve ways of working (including playbooks/templates) so the product can scale safely across markets and use cases.

To be successful you will need:

  • Risk / Governance: Experience in AI governance, risk management, compliance, legal, technology risk, or a related control discipline—preferably within financial services and/or a complex, matrixed global organisation.
  • AI Product Understanding: Understanding of Generative AI products in practice (e.g., LLM-enabled applications, prompt patterns, model safety, evaluation, and limitations), with the ability to reason about real user behaviour and control design in live systems.
  • Risk Judgement & Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to assess novel situations using a mix of factual and qualitative information and drive proportionate risk outcomes.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to present complex issues clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Delivery Mindset: Comfortable operating at pace in a fast-changing technical and risk environment; pragmatic, outcome-oriented, and able to work with ambiguity while maintaining high standards.
  • Controls & Security Awareness: Solid understanding of risk, compliance, and controls in digital products, with awareness of cybersecurity and data privacy threats relevant to LLM applications and AI tooling.
