We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Vice President- Credit Analysis Unit

 

In this role, you will:

  • Support the delivery of revenue to achieve Annual Operating Plan (AOP) targets and maximize the extent to which client needs are met for GTS
  • Provide support and technical expertise to frontline structurers and sales teams on key deals and clients, liaising with product, implementation and proposition teams
  • Personally, and through others, hold and develop predominant technical expertise in open account solutions (for instance, but not limited to, Receivables Finance, Supply Chain finance, ABLs) across geographies with understanding of trends and market development.
  • Be the subject matter expert and write risk memos to ensure the correct structuring of transactions and fit for purpose solutions to clients
  • Build close working relationships with Global sales colleagues to facilitate global solution implementation and structures replication
  • Identify and communicate process gaps and improvement opportunities; express willingness to own improvement initiatives; and be recognized by leading change for the better and excellent client delivery
  • Continuously adapt to balance and prioritize different demands of the team and requirements from multiple directions and stakeholders
  • Understand and describe which products and channels relate to specific clients and maintain open and honest dialogue with key stakeholders i.e., Sales, Product, Coverage
  • Understand and comply with all relevant policies, FIM guidelines and procedures issued by the Group.
  • Need to be aware of the Operational Risk scenario associated with their role, and to ensure that all actions during their employment with HSBC take account of the likelihood of operational risk occurring.

 

To be successful you will:

  • C.A. / CFA / MBA Finance, Economics or equivalent is essential, and any professional qualification is desirable.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in Credit Analysis including Working Capital Analysis & Trade Finance.
  • Highly proficient at Excel and Word. Expertise in financial databases such S&P Capital IQ, Bloomberg, FactSet preferred.
  • Knowledge of Trade Finance structures at a global level having experience in global multinational financial departments, Receivables Finance, supply chain, pre-export finance, and/or commodity finance.
  • Proven track record of having closed structured trade finance deals
  • Thorough understanding of Working Capital management aspects
  • Strong financial and analytical skills with very good problem analysis (pointing out problems, recognizing important information, establishing connections)
  • Broad knowledge of the trends in the Open Account area as they impact Large Corporate and Global Banking segments
  • Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word and MS Power Point and use of market platforms like Bloomberg, S&P capital, functions
  • Knowledge of Legal frameworks and capable to manage legal discussions in relation to such Open Account structures.
