We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Director - Risk Modeling and Monitoring.

 

In this role, you will:

  • Responsible for analytical algorithms & programming to build and maintain internal quantitative applications used for credit risk model, IRB model and strategy development.
  • Support application users in fundamental understanding of models and algorithms (ML: Boosting, Random Forests, Deep Learning, Anomaly Detection, Unstructured Data Analysis; Statistical algorithms: logistic regression, GAM; etc) as relevant to their usage in Credit Scoring and Strategy.
  • Actively participate in testing associated with releases and contribute to Quantitative Research for credit risk use cases. Track the completion of tasks and ensure closure of any other duties /assignments pending from ACOE and GR.
  • Develop and maintain relationships and work well with all levels of management.
  • Inspire trust & credibility among team members, business clients and other stakeholders through highest level of personal integrity, and ethical behavior. 
  • Support to develop a culture committed to the delivery of outstanding customer service and healthy, open, transparent, honest team environment.
  • Encourage the sharing of knowledge and information across teams and leverage from experience and learning from others. Ability to influence and negotiate across all levels for mutually positive outcome.
  • Provide relevant training, mentoring to team members. Collaborates well across different functional areas.

To be successful you will:

  • luent in Python and R programming with advanced skills in any one of the two. Strong in concepts and programming associated with Traditional ML Models like GB, RF, NN, XGBoost as well as statistical modelling like logistic regression and GAM
  • Experience in AI applications (including using coding assistants, agents) would be added advantage.
  • Bachelor’s degree in mathematics/ statistics/ economics or equivalent; Master’s degree is preferred. At least 7+ years of relevant experience in analytics preferably in the fields like Strategy Development, Loss Forecasting/Reserving, Modeling, Risk Strategy, Marketing etc.
  • Excellent communication skills with technical (the team) and non-technical (senior entity management in region) counterparts; being able to "translate" between the two worlds is the major thing in the day-to-day work.
  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to grasp new concepts quickly. Good organizational, analytical, problem-solving and verbal and written communication skills. Prior experience in managing people will be preferred.
  • Prior experience in managing risk activities in retail lending is essential and in managing Retail portfolios such as Mortgage, Cards, Loans and Overdrafts.
  • Good understanding of business domain, functional goals, and the required technical expertise. Able to see the 'bigger picture' and assesses relationships between recommended analytical solutions / projects and business performance.
  • Able to make decisions, even with ambiguous /incomplete data at a pace that balances the need for further analysis and the need for timely decision given business pressures / requirements.
