We are currently seeking an ambitious individual to join HSBC as a Global Network Banking – Relationship Management Support Trainee.
This placement provides students and fresh graduates with real business exposure .At HSBC, we also see this as an opportunity to develop early career talent for future roles.
Key Responsibilities
During the placement, the trainee will provide day-to-day support to the Relationship Manager (RM) and coverage team, with appropriate supervision. Responsibilities will include:

Relationship management support
- Prepare meeting packs and pre-read materials for client engagements.
- Take meeting minutes, maintain action logs, and drive follow-ups (drafting client communications for RM review/approval).
- Track agreed actions to closure with clear owners and deadlines.

Client servicing coordination (non-decisioning)
- Coordinate routine client requests and information follow-ups.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders (e.g., Product, Operations, Credit, Onboarding) to progress items.
- Identify risks/blockers early and escalate appropriately to support improved turnaround times.

Sales/pipeline and management information (MI)
- Maintain and update trackers/CRM, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Produce weekly/monthly pipeline and activity reporting, including basic data analysis.
- Highlight trends, overdue items and priorities to support team decision-making.

Process and controls support
- Coordinate documentation requests and maintain organised records/audit trails in line with internal requirements.
- Strengthen documentation completeness and tracking of key client-related tasks (e.g., upcoming annual reviews, information requests).
Requirements
- Currently completed undergraduate degree in Business, Banking, Finance, Economics or similar (flexible if skills match).
- Strong written and verbal communication; English, with ability to write clear summaries and professional emails.
- Good working knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint; comfortable working with trackers and structured data.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail; able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Team-oriented, adaptable, and able to pick up new tools and processes quickly.
