Ready to shape Indonesia’s people strategy through major business transformation?

Why HSBC

HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world. Guided by our purpose of opening up a world of opportunity, our ambition is to become the world’s most trusted bank globally, putting customers at the heart of everything we do.

The Role

As Director of Human Resources, HSBC Indonesia you’ll set the country people strategy and partner with the Country CEO and Executive Committee to support business performance and delivery. As a Bank Director in a locally incorporated entity you’ll hold fiduciary responsibilities and operate within a complex regulatory and employee relations environment that requires demonstrably local decision-making and effective oversight. You’ll oversee talent management, succession planning and mobility and strengthen frameworks for performance, reward, learning and resourcing. You’ll also coordinate the people aspects of change programmes from design to delivery while maintaining BAU services and controls and managing people and operational risk through the transition. Success means high-quality change decisions, business transformation and execution across workstreams, trusted advice to senior stakeholders and HR in Indonesia seen as best in class.

What you'll be doing

  • Set the Bank’s people strategy for Indonesia aligned to the Group People Strategy and local business priorities
  • Partner with the Country CEO and Executive Committee on strategic and operational human capital decisions
  • Deliver talent management, succession planning and workforce planning to build a diverse and effective workforce
  • Define and oversee frameworks for performance management, reward, learning and development, resourcing and engagement
  • Steer the people aspects of change programmes from design to delivery while sustaining BAU People services
  • Govern disciplinary, grievance and industrial action activity in line with local procedures and legal requirements
  • Manage relationships with Union representatives and handle employee relations issues with appropriate internal communications
  • Monitor people budget, recruitment and retention trends and escalate people risks to safeguard business performance and HSBC’s reputation

What we're looking for

  • Bring substantial senior HR experience in a multinational organisation with regional or global exposure
  • Demonstrate knowledge of HR policies and procedures and the legal and regulatory landscape within financial services in the local market
  • Show experience advising senior leadership teams on organisation, talent, reward and performance decisions
  • Evidence oversight of complex change portfolios including people impacts, controls and risk management through transition
  • Demonstrate capability managing employee relations and industrial relations matters in a regulated environment
  • Bring experience shaping workforce planning and succession pipelines including leadership successor identification
  • Show ability to influence across a matrix organisation and secure alignment across multiple stakeholders
  • Communicate fluently in English in a senior stakeholder setting including governance forums

Shaping Indonesia’s People Agenda

This role offers the scope to influence how HSBC supports colleagues and customers through a major period of change in Indonesia. You’ll help sustain high-quality in-market People services while strengthening talent, engagement and workforce capability for the next stage of growth. If you want a role that combines fiduciary accountability with hands-on impact across transformation and BAU this is a chance to make that contribution at the centre of the franchise. Apply to be part of a team focused on making change work for people and outcomes.
