We are currently seeking an experienced ServiceNow Discovery Developer with 12+ years of hands-on experience to join our team for the role of ServiceNow discovery developer/Senior Consultant Specialist

 

In this role, you will: (MAX 8 Points)

  1. Accountable for end-to-end ServiceNow Discovery, CMDB delivery, owning solution design, development, and providing advanced Level 3 support.
  2. Architect, design, configure and implement ServiceNow Discovery / CMDB / ITAM solutions to accurately discover and integrate infrastructure components across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments, covering servers, network devices, databases, storage, applications, and cloud resources.
  3. Develop, customize, and optimize Discovery probes, patterns, and sensors to meet complex business and technical requirements. Provide expert guidance for integrations with third-party tools including JDBC, REST APIs, manual imports, Service Graph / SG Connectors, and other integration mechanisms.
  4. Collaborate closely with project teams, product owners, architects, infrastructure, network, cloud, and security teams to define requirements, validate design decisions, establish correct credentials and ports, and ensure firewall/ MID Server readiness for high-quality delivery.
  5. Own the creation of technical design documents, runbooks, SOPs, and knowledge transfer materials, ensuring clarity, completeness, and alignment with implementation and support teams.
  6. Demonstrate deep hands-on expertise in all ServiceNow scripting and configuration—including server-side and client-side scripting, probes, sensors, patterns, identification rules, reconciliation rules, ACLs, CI class models, data management, and table structures.
  7. Provide advanced troubleshooting and resolution leadership, guiding L2/L1 teams, performing deep analysis of discovery logs, MID server logs, connectivity issues, credential failures, firewall restrictions, and conducting RCAs with permanent fix recommendations.
  8. Drive Service Mapping implementation and support, extending discovery into service modeling by designing and configuring service maps using patterns and dependencies. Should have strong experience in top-down mapping, tag-based mapping, ML-based approaches, and dynamic CI grouping, ensuring high-quality and accurate service maps.

 

 

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements: (MAX 8 Points)

  • 12+ Years of IT experience and 8+ years of hands-on experience in ServiceNow Discovery implementation.
  • Strong experience in
    • Discovery probes, patterns, sensors
    • Service Mapping (top-down, tag-based and pattern-based mapping)
    • CMDB class modeling, identification and reconciliation rules (IRE)
    • MID Server installation, configuration and troubleshooting.
    • Update set hierarchy, data layer, flows, UI Action /policy, ACL’s, deployment, Integration, REST/SOAP integrations.
    • Proficiency in ServiceNow scripting - JavaScript (server-side & client-side)
  • Experience with development and implementation of ServiceNow ITOM modules – Discovery, Service Mapping, JDBC integrations, REST/SOAP integrations, SG Connectors integrations with ServiceNow and debugging skills along with good process understanding on ITOM modules.
  • Should have ServiceNow certification (CSA, Discovery implementation specialist).
  • Ability to transform Business Requirement into Business Process. Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • End to End experience of ServiceNow based application design and implementation.
  • Excellent verbal, active listening, and written communications skills along with demonstrated facilitation skills. Effective and clear communication skills (written, oral and listening), with ability to describe complex technical scenarios in a concise manner depending on the audience.
  • Experience in L3 support along with platform upgrades.
  • Good to have CSDM knowledge and experience
