The Senior Product Owner – Account Information Services is part of Global Payments Solutions (GPS) Liquidity SVS – Account Solutions.

Account Information Service (AIS) is an internal data platform. It collects balances, transactions and other key account features from multiple banking and product systems (60+), third-party banks and stores it centrally, accessible to customers and internal bank systems. It is a key data pipeline, storage and retrieval mechanism for many GPS and non-GPS Products (current accounts, term deposits, loans, investment and cash sweeps, wallets, cards etc) and is built on a unified application and platform.

 

The purpose of the Senior Product Owner role is to provide E2E management and oversight of the AIS development initiatives allocated into SVS pods and be accountable for their timely and successful execution. This will entail key components such as product backlog ownership, prioritization, translation of business requirements into technical design, epics, acceptance criteria, testing.

The Senior Product Manager will have an opportunity to manage resources directly and indirectly, work in a dynamic and diverse team, closely aligned with the GPS business and AIS technology pods.

In this role, you will:

  1. Pipeline Ownership & Prioritization - to ensure client centricity, drive resilient and consistent business results
  2.  
  • Lead development of product enhancements to support the CTB initiatives of the respective VS/SVS
  • Ensure the product is designed to meet customer needs and business requirements
  • Backlog prioritization and ensure it reflects the current roadmap priorities
  • AIS IT POD alignment
  • AIS Senior Product Manager alignment and back up

 

Feature definition and detailing

  • Break down initiatives into epics and user stories
  • Write clear acceptance criteria and functional requirements
  • Ensure stories are well-defined, testable, and ready for development
  • Ensure the tech team understands why features are being built

Daily Engagement with Technology teams

  • Act as the primary product contact for the engineering team
  • Define minimal viable proposition (MVP)
  • Clarify requirements, answer questions, and remove ambiguity
  • Participate actively in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and reviews

 

Sprint & Delivery Support

  • Support sprint planning and ensure commitments align with priorities
  • Review completed work to ensure quality and meets acceptance criteria
  • Accept or reject work based on agreed definitions of done

 

Execute commercialization strategy

  • Participate in building commercialization activities with the wider product team
  • Ensure pre-commercialization readiness
  • Provide necessary PVT support
  • Gather feedback & Iteration from demos, testing, and internal stakeholders

 

Profile and Experience required:

  • Candidates should be able to demonstrate a minimum of 5-10 years of working experience in a fast-paced product development environment in a financial industry
  • Experience in implementing large scale product development project
  • Experience in payments/cash management/transaction banking is a plus
  • Familiar with HSBC technology infrastructure such as core banking applications, APIs, digital channels and others
  • Awareness of VS and SVS operating model and ways of work
