We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Consultant Specialist

In this role, you will:

• Design and develop robust, scalable, and high-performance applications using the Java technology stack
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs using Spring Boot
• Apply Java and microservice design patterns to architect maintainable and resilient systems
• Implement and manage service virtualization strategies to simulate dependent services for testing and development
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features
• Champion DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and monitoring
• Drive Test Engineering initiatives — unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end testing strategies
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in code reviews

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

• Java & JVM: Hands-on experience with Java 8/11/17+ and the wider JVM ecosystem.
• API engineering: Strong track record building production-grade RESTful APIs.
• Architecture & patterns: Solid grasp of microservices/distributed patterns (Creational/Structural/Behavioural, Saga, CQRS, Circuit Breaker, API Gateway, etc.).
• Testing & automation: Proficient with JUnit/Mockito/TestNG, plus integration, contract, BDD (Cucumber) and performance testing.
• Service virtualisation (shift-left): Practical experience creating/managing virtual services to simulate unstable/unavailable third-party APIs; designing stateful/stateless simulations for workflows.
• Contract-driven virtualisation: Experience with consumer-driven contract testing and virtualisation (e.g., Pact).
• CI/CD & DevOps: Ability to integrate testing/service virtualisation into CI/CD (Jenkins/GitHub Actions); strong containerisation skills (Docker/Kubernetes).
• Cloud & ecosystem (nice-to-have): Exposure to AWS/GCP/Azure, event-driven tech (Kafka/RabbitMQ), databases (MongoDB/PostgreSQL), load tools (Gatling/JMeter/k6), and API management (Kong/Apigee).
