We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Associate Director, Technology Management
In this role, you will:
- Oversee end-to-end management of server, VMware, database, and storage environments, ensuring performance, security, resilience, and compliance with HSBC standards.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to infrastructure engineers, driving continuous improvement, knowledge sharing, and engineering best practice.
- Lead datacentre and data migration activities, including planning, execution, cutover, and post-migration stabilisation.
- Design and deliver automation (self-healing/self-service), using data analysis and AI-enabled approaches where appropriate to improve reliability and efficiency.
- Lead infrastructure projects end-to-end, delivering to agreed scope, timelines, and budgets in partnership with cross-functional teams.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, translating business needs into practical, secure, and scalable infrastructure solutions.
- Manage external vendors and service providers, ensuring SLAs are met, value is delivered, and supporting contract negotiations and performance reviews.
- Drive resolution of complex incidents and problems, leading root cause analysis and implementing preventative controls aligned to risk and compliance frameworks.
- Extensive hands-on experience managing enterprise server, VMware, database, and storage platforms in large-scale environments.
- Proven track record leading, developing, and motivating high-performing technical teams.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, able to influence and collaborate across technology and business teams.
- Demonstrated vendor management capability, including contract negotiation, service performance monitoring, and commercial governance.
- Solid understanding of ITIL processes and operational best practices (incident, problem, change, and service management).
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive, analytical approach to risk, stability, and continuous improvement.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to explain complex technical topics clearly to non-technical audiences.
- Experience in regulated financial services environments preferred; relevant certifications (e.g., VMware, Microsoft, ITIL) are advantageous.
