We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of  Senior Business Analyst

The role holder will work as part of the global change management team supporting the High Value Payments processing platform Global Payment Engine, across 11 key HSBC markets. The candidate will need to be the knowledge base and liaison point for stakeholders, undertake analysis, and implement system changes, manage medium size projects across Payments. Provide incident support during system outages, delivering clear updates to all stakeholders, and escalates where necessary to ensure timely resolution. Ensure work is completed in accordance with the Performance Level Agreement contracts and within process Service Level Agreement.  Meets Global Standards, Risk, Compliance and Audit requirements.

In this role, you will:

  • Payment Services is a Service Delivery business unit where we drive and co-ordinate best in class customer experience and process efficiencies for Payments.  Operating in a highly regulated environment acting as providers of strategies and services, delivering long term commercial benefits to our customers in GPS, CMB, WPB and GBM. 
  • The job holder supports managing complex and live issues daily dependent on their recognized expertise and is acknowledged as the first point of contact for technical support and guidance relative to the technical aspects of their SME role. The incumbent is allowed a level of autonomy and are free to operate within compliance and Audit guidelines and in accordance with Group Standards, FIMs and local procedures.
  • He / She is encouraged to work without supervision and are authorized to make decisions within the remit of their role without prior approval or escalation. The jobholder works as part of a global team serving the GPS enabled countries.
  • They will play a part in being responsible for the development and changes which are implemented into the Global Payment System and ensure that all relevant sign off has been given before any implementation into the system. The job holder will work closely with UAT Team to ensure test systems are production like and have any new setup they require.
  • They will also be a point of referral for key stakeholders and provide guidance and MI if ever in crisis. They will be responsible for looking after STP Inward and Outward and lead any projects which may have Global output.

To be successful you will:

  • Excellent understanding of E2E payment journeys from the point of client initiation to clearing and settlement, across multiple geographies and scheme types with strong capability to provide in house solutioning via business Configuration.
  • Thorough knowledge of Global Pay Plus configuration Considerable experience in Testing Payment’s knowledge (SWIFT, Domestic Clearing, Low value & Real-time Payments, Faster Payments etc.)
  • Customer Channels (Branch, Telephone, Digital) SWIFT formatting and Message types including ISO20022 standards. Analysis experience and problem-solving techniques.
  • Other systems covering Messaging, Investigations, Billing and Bulk processing e.g., SEPA. Business Partner stakeholder management and communication. General Payments and Treasury/FX product knowledge
  • Experience with accounting/back-office systems XML and SQL (basic).  Awareness of Industry and Banking Regulation. Excellent planning and organizing skills. Ability to work under pressure and competing priorities. Self-starter, own and manage individual program work streams. Strong knowledge on MS office suite. Data Analysis & Presentation Skills Automation Knowledge / Skills Previous involvement with Incident management. Proven management abilities in leading change and projects
