We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of : Processing and Investigation Straight Through Processing Lead

In this role, you will:

• Payments Business Services supports processing, investigation, utilities and other high end GLCM work for multiple business entities across the group. Payment’s business serves multiple distinct business regions of HSBC Bank covering their entire global payments operations. A number of differing platforms are used for different business regions.
• You will partner closely with Operations, Technology, Compliance, and Product teams to shape a frictionless, resilient, and future-ready payments ecosystem. This role provides the platform to influence enterprise-level automation strategy, deliver measurable value, and champion continuous improvement across the organization.
• Identify process gaps, duplication, manual touchpoints, and systemic inefficiencies. Collaborate with Technology teams to design, build, and implement automation, workflow enhancements, and integration solutions.
• Partner with Product, Technology, Compliance, Operations, and Risk teams to ensure seamless automation delivery.
• Represent Payments STP in governance forums, transformation committees, and regulatory discussions.
• Influence senior leadership through structured reporting, dashboards, and insights-based recommendations.
• Drive long-term automation roadmap aligned with regulatory, operational, and customer-experience priorities
• Lead the development and execution of the Straight Through Processing strategy for Payments Services.

To be successful you will:

• As the this role, you will play a critical role in driving the bank’s payments transformation agenda. This is a unique opportunity to lead large-scale automation initiatives, enhance operational efficiency, and strengthen risk-free processing across high-value and retail payment channels.
• Strengthen end-to-end STP processing across wire transfers, domestic payments, instant payments, and digital channels.
• Identify process gaps, duplication, manual touchpoints, and systemic inefficiencies.
• Lead continuous improvement opportunities leveraging Lean, Six Sigma, and data-driven techniques.
• Oversee exception queues, payment breaks, and manual repairs; drive improvements to reduce operational dependencies.
• Strengthen capability development for STP, data analytics, and exception-handling teams
• Exposure / certification on data mining (Power Query, SQL, Google Cloud) and data visualization tools (Tableau, Qlik) would be added advantage (D) Knowledge of ISO 20022 (D)
