We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of PROGRAMME AND PROJECT SERVICES ANALYST

Purpose of the role

The Programme and Project Services Analyst is part of the Central Portfolio Project Management Office (PMO) of the, Group COO Transformation Services.

The activities are centralized around the Portfolio/Programme Governance, assurance, resource and work planning & control, budget management, benefit management and change management. This role will act as a source of guidance and provide governance and metrics to the global change initiatives and in supporting the delivery leaders for making strategic decisions. This role helps initiatives adhere to the HSBC Change Framework, using the standard project management tools aligned to the group’s Strategic Tooling Spine such as Clarity and JIRA.
In this role, you will be:

  • Support schedule/plan management, identify, and monitor internal/external dependencies and milestones for successful delivery of Portfolio/Programme outcomes in line with agreed delivery plans.
  • Design and maintain delivery dashboards for insightful visualisation of flow of project plan, key milestones, dependencies to support decision-making. support and co-ordinate monthly Governance meetings and prepare materials for key Programme/ Project level meetings.
  • Support portfolio investment allocations, benefit projections & a holistic view of the financial performance and ensure those are in line with defined Portfolio strategy, customers & business outcomes managing Portfolio/Programme resource capacity.
  • Report on financial guardrails, ensure controls are in place and variances are tracked.
  • Support in facilitating adherence to Change control around the business case commitments (funding, outcomes, and value delivered) and ensure Business cases are impact assessed and approved in line with agreed tolerances.
  • Support management of portfolio/programme risks and issues through appropriate tracking and involving key members of the transformation team as needed.
  • Support portfolio control monitoring activities that monitor quality and adherence to the standards, ensuring compliance to HSBC Change Framework, HSBC Functional Instruction Manuals, SAFE, AGILE etc.
  • Above list is not exhaustive & covers core responsibilities expected of the resource securing the role. Additional responsibilities may form part of the role depending on the project, programme or portfolio where the resource is assigned / on boarded.

To be successful you will be:

  • Minimum 5 years’ relevant experience in project/programme/portfolio delivery, financial management, or PMO/PPM roles, and a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Business, Finance, Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Strong critical thinking—able to bring structure to ambiguous or large-scale problems and solve them systematically, logically, and independently.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving capability, with effective interpersonal communication and negotiation skills to drive outcomes.
  • Strong stakeholder management with a consultative approach to engaging internal clients and aligning priorities across teams.
  • PPM standards & ways of working: Working knowledge of industry standards across Project/Programme/Portfolio management, including Waterfall and Agile delivery approaches.
  • Financials, tools & certification (preferred): Understanding of billing, cost allocation/recharges, annual operating & investment planning, and investment/benefits reporting (including GPDM hierarchy), plus strong skills in MS Office (Excel/PowerPoint/Word) and PPM/change tools (Clarity, Jira, Confluence, HSBC Change Framework). Certifications such as PMP (or equivalent), P3O/MSP/MoP, and/or Agile certification are an advantage.
