We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Operational Risk Manager.
In this role, you will:
- Conducts regular reviews of access rights across all key Financial Crime systems, including deep dives on users, permissions, handling of access request tickets and privacy considerations
- Identifies risks and issues, conducting necessary read-across, assessing impact, recommending and executing remediating actions
- Ensures new privacy rules and regulations are appropriately reflected across all key Financial Crime systems
- Ensures access is granted and maintained on a least privilege, need to know basis with appropriate approvals, segregation of duties, recertification and privacy-by-design controls in line with HSBC policy and local regulatory requirements.
- Maintains clear operational procedures, control evidence and MI, supports Audit/Assurance activity and drives timely remediation to reduce access-related risk.
- Partners with FC stakeholders, application owners and Technology teams to simplify access journeys and increase automation (including AI-enabled capabilities) to improve turnaround time, colleague experience and operational resilience.
To be successful you will:
- Data Privacy knowledge, e.g. why privacy matters, common privacy and data sharing principles
- IAM/access controls knowledge, e.g. user access lifecycle, least privilege, Access Control approaches, reviews/recertification, privileged access
- Risk & controls mindset: Can follow control procedures, document evidence, spot exceptions, and think in terms of “what could go wrong?” and “what control prevents/detects it?”
- Analytical and problem-solving skills: Able to break down access/privacy issues, interpret logs/reports, and identify root causes
- Learning agility/curiosity: Comfortable picking up new tools/tech (including AI-enabled capabilities) with appropriate governance
- Strong Jira and Confluence experience.
- Clear understanding and experience of the business requirements and should be able to translate the business requirements in technical outcome/Epic and Stories.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate technical matters effectively with senior leaders in Compliance/ business sponsors.
