HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world, with operations in 64 countries and territories. We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Consultant Specalist

In this role, you will:

  • Own end-to-end CTO Infrastructure KPI reporting and observability insights, turning telemetry and ITSM data into dashboards, trends and actions for a 24x7 environment.
  • Govern the Infrastructure KPI suite (e.g., availability, incident volumes, MTTA/MTTR, SLA/SLO, change success rate, backlog, repeat incidents), including standards and controls.
  • Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and reporting packs (data modelling, Power Query, DAX).
  • Build and maintain Splunk dashboards/alerts using SPL, delivering operational observability and insight.
  • Perform trend analysis and deep dives to identify service issue drivers and present recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Correlate logs/metrics/events with ITSM outcomes to improve detection quality and reduce alert noise.
  • Deliver ServiceNow reporting across Incident/Problem/Change/Request and improve data quality (categorisation, assignment groups, CI/service mapping).
  • Automate data extraction/transformation/validation using Python and SQL, and document KPI definitions, data lineage and reporting standards; partner across teams/vendors to drive continuous improvement (including AI/ML-enabled analytics where appropriate, within controls).

To be successful, you will

  • Strong hands-on Splunk experience (SPL, dashboards; alerting desirable).
  • Strong hands-on Power BI (data modelling, DAX, Power Query).
  • Strong ServiceNow reporting/analytics experience and solid ITSM/ITIL knowledge (Incident/Problem/Change).
  • Advanced SQL skills (complex joins/aggregations; window functions preferred).
  • Strong Python for automation and data processing (pandas, APIs, scheduling).
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail; able to translate operational questions into measurable KPIs.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management, including presenting insights to senior leadership.
  • Exposure to AI/ML concepts in ops analytics (anomaly detection, forecasting, text analytics), with ability to evaluate outputs and manage data quality/bias considerations

You’ll achieve more when you join HSBC.
