Role Overview

This position is responsible for helping the Global Procurement function make better, data-driven decisions and drive critical business outcomes by unlocking value from data. You will focus on 50% advanced analytics and 50% BI development using QlikSense. We take a customer-centric and consultative approach to develop insights that help HSBC’s senior leaders answer key business questions, such as:

• How do we drive efficiency in our supply chain?
• How do we partner with our suppliers to drive towards net-zero?
• How do we effectively manage supply chain concentration risk?

In this role, you will:

Key Responsibilities

• Analytics Delivery & Prototyping: Build and enhance QlikSense dashboards, write and optimize SQL queries on BigQuery, and create rapid prototypes and POCs.
• Architectural & Data Engineering: Design and support data workflows, collaborate on data pipeline architecture, and propose architecture improvements.
• Automation & Engineering Mindset: Automate reporting processes, apply modular coding practices, and drive technical innovation.
• Data Governance & Quality: Implement data validation checks, ensure compliance with data management standards, and address data integrity issues.
• Problem Solving & Priority Handling: Act as the first responder for analytics issues, troubleshoot independently, and provide consulting-style support.
• Advanced Analytics: Use Python for exploratory data analysis, build small-scale ML models, and ensure ethical AI practices.

• Cloud Platform: GCP, Big Query, DataProc, Dataflow, Data Fusion, Dataplex, Vertex AI
• BI & Visualization: QlikSense Dashboard
• ML/NLP Expertise: NLP Techniques, Time Series, Supervised, Unsupervised, Reinforcement Learning
• Programming and AI/ML: Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn
• Generative AI (Optional) : RAG, LLM, Prompt Engineering, Model evaluation
• Vector Databases (Optional): FAISS, Pinecone, Weaviate
• Agentic AI (nice to have): Langchain, Langgraph, llamaindex

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Experience and Qualifications

• 3+  years of experience in data analytics, BI, and Advanced Analytics and ML.
• Strong expertise in Qlik Sense and advanced SQL/Big Query skills
• Experience in data governance and data quality frameworks
• Proven track record in automation and performance optimization
• Experience in Generative AI/LLM development and machine learning
