We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of MANAGER - Group Chief Controls Oversight Office .

In this role, you will:

  • Map end-to-end processes for assigned Model Risk controls and identify the key control components within each process.
  • Document distinct Model Risk control types, including remit, process steps, and handovers between teams.
  • Assess assigned Model Risk controls for design and operating effectiveness, document results, and raise issues where gaps are found.
  • Support VP/AVP to deliver Model Risk control testing, ensuring outputs are accurate and comply with GCCOO procedures, templates, and QC standards.
  • Deliver assigned Model Risk testing on time, in line with the GCCOO testing plan and regulatory timelines/targets.
  • Review root cause analysis and remediation plans for material Model Risk issues to confirm they’re sufficient and fit-for-purpose.
  • Perform issue closure validation to confirm Model Risk findings are sustainably remediated by the First Line of Defence.
  • Communicate effectively with local stakeholders and senior management, providing clear updates, emerging Model Risk themes, and testing outcomes while maintaining GCCOO independence.
  • Produce high-quality MI (decks/papers/reports) on GCCOO activity, and promote increased use of automation and analytics in Model Risk testing.
  • Contribute to strengthening GCCOO operating standards by helping enhance procedures/templates, supporting ad-hoc Model Risk assessments, and avoiding high-risk audit/assurance findings.

 

To be successful you will:

  • Minimum of 2 years proven experience in assurance, audit, compliance or risk management within financial services or other major industries.
  • A good understanding of model risk and control framework including model discovery, identification, life cycle and knowledge of relevant regional laws, regulations and the overall regulatory environment preferred.
  • Ability to identify and assess the risks associated including materiality with the models. Understanding of the model risk management framework and model life cycle requirements
  • Awareness of model development, implementation, and use. Proven ability to multi-task and working independently under pressure to tight deadlines in a challenging and fluid environment.
  • Experience of process mapping and delivering professional reports and presentations gained within a financial services organisation or audit/consulting practice.
  • Awareness of good risk management and governance frameworks including 3 lines of defence criteria.
  • Understanding of the activities of relevant business lines and associated compliance risks. Ability to foster relationships whilst providing adequate challenge and effecting change while during testing.
