We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Director, Data Management  

In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate with multiple customers and stakeholders on projects and develop strong understanding of business domain, its strategic direction, functional goals, and the required technical expertise.
  • Promote and apply innovative approaches for self and the team to deliver incremental business value.
  • Interface with global and local business process owners to collate data requirements to be prioritized for data management activities.
  • Identify business requirements and translate them in Data Quality rules and data population to be measured, prepare inputs for teams building Data Quality rules.
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand requirements for metadata governance and coordinate meetings with Subject Matter Experts / Data Governors.
  • Analyse and translate business need into long-term data solutions.
  • Collaborate with a variety of technology, data management, and business professionals at various levels of expertise in establishing collaboration, content management, data consolidation, information delivery, and data strategies.
  • Ensure personal integrity and adherence to established HSBC policy on conduct, compliance and Resilience Risk.

To be successful you will:

  • Understand data management concepts covering data definition, data modelling, data quality, data provenance / sourcing, data lineage, data ownership, data governance and data architecture.
  • Must have experience in iterative delivery of features and establishing tailored continues improvement frameworks.
  • Experience with data management tools, preferably Collibra.Visualization of data models and business intelligence.
  • Project management and reporting skills especially on a regulatory project and experience managing associated complexities and requirement
  • 8+ years of relevant experience. Bachelor's or master's degree from reputed university with specialization in numerical discipline and concentration in computer science, information systems or other engineering specializations.
  • Problem solving and Critical Thinking skills to effectively analyse the complex issues, looks for new ways to improve current processes and develop creative solutions that are grounded and have practical values.
  • Strong communications and Stakeholder Management skills should be able to work effectively and maintain strong working relationships as an integral part of a larger team, and able to be directive when required on compliance and key deliverables.
