We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Manager- Financial Action Task Force Testing

  • The Global AML procedure on Payment Transparency requires the Group to establish systematic assurance testing of intra - HSBC and client originated payments to identify and correct instances where HSBC receives or sends payments that do not comply with the Financial Task Force (FATF) Recommendations requirement to include and correctly format information. This is to ensure the identification of funds transfers with missing and/or incomplete originator or beneficiary information. The Global Standards Payments Transparency work stream commits HSBC to deliver compliance
  • This Job role will cover the Payment Transparency Assurance Testing activities  that involve  data extraction requests, coordination with the various teams for data extraction, sampling , mapping  comparing, reviewing the Mapping of  data  and calling out exceptions, consolidating the exceptions, analysing the same and generating the Results/Certificates/MI to be shared with the Stakeholders and Payments Transparency Authority (PTA)

In this role, you will:

  • Take measures to provide high quality management information which enables the Country Management to identify and remediate the Payment Transparency issues. Analysis on data and provision of Quality MI.
  • MI and other business data requirements are completed accurately, and the underlying data is presented/shared with Business/LoB/Channel owners in a concise manner.
  • To continually reassess the changes in Payments Transparency Requirements and country specific dispensations and align the Payments Transparency Assurance testing procedures and MI components accordingly
  • To maintain HSBC internal and external control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by audit teams. Comply with Group’s statutory audit standards. Establish and maintain effective relationship with peers, stakeholders, data providers, business areas and identify areas of service improvements.
  • To assist the manager in completing the Payments Transparency Assurance Testing in a seamless and timely manner. Work is organized and processed/completed within agreed timescales. Ongoing monitoring and review of workflow and priorities are in accordance with procedures.
  • Process productivity and quality targets are set, monitored and achieved to ensure optimum resource utilization and achievement of business objectives and customer Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Processes are regularly reviewed to identify improvements, which will enhance operational and financial effectiveness.
  • Co-ordinate team activities and represent the Global Test Utility (PDO) at Centre level activities and/or CSR activities. Contribute to the creation of a supportive work environment driven by people centric values
  • Build professional relationships with colleagues in other areas. Foster development of co-workers and effectively communicate with peers in terms of best practice sharing to ensure that optimum use of resource is made across the sections and that a robust cross training plan is in place to multi skill operation teams.

To be successful you will:

  • Excellent Analytical, Statistical, Data mining and MI skills, to analyse huge amounts of data, comprehend information, both verbal and numerical, accurately and logically, interpret numeric data and present in an appealing and concise manner
  • Possess good problem solving & decision-making skills along with excellent follow up & coordinating skills. Ability to initiate process improvements, by adopting a flexible approach to change. Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with ability manage stakeholders.
  • Sound Knowledge of Payments Transparency and knowledge of Payments products and systems owned across lines of business and operations. Ability to manage automation tools and apply to the process as required. Good team player with an ability to learn quickly, transfer knowledge appropriately and guide, train and mentor new joiners.            
  • Strong defect management skills. Have detailed understanding of testing techniques. Experience of involvement in test planning(D). Self-driven - Must be able to work independently with a drive for results. (E)
