We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as an ERM Manager - Operational and Resilience Risk
Note: Basing on the compatibility level of the experience, skillset and technical knowledge of final candidate, the role can be offered at GCB5 or GCB6.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Support Vietnam Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and act as a key contact and escalation for senior stakeholder engagement throughout Vietnam, making sure delivery is consistent and of high quality.
- Provide risk stewardship and second line oversight of new regulatory developments, internal controls, and top and emerging risks, to ensure Vietnam can mitigate these timely and cost effectively.
- Support Senior ERM Manager in interacting with regulators (e.g. SBV, MPS) and industry bodies on Resilience Risk matters (covering mainly Technology and Cyber Security (TCS), Data Risk and Third Party Risk).
- Conduct thematic reviews across Vietnam to ensure that risk and control environment is commensurate with the scale and nature of operations.
- Support implementation and embedding of Risk Management Framework (RMF) for Non Financial Risk (NFR) management. This includes Risk Strategy, Risk Appetite, Risk Taxonomy and Risk Control Library strategy and policy framework.
- Attend Vietnam control meetings and non-financial risk governance forums, providing both Operational Risk oversight and robust and timely Risk Steward challenge of the First Line of Defence (1LOD) view of the resilience risk profile as required.
- Support the implementation and embedding of the ERM functional strategy and working effectively with Regional ERM Risk teams.
- Apply risk stewardship review and challenge over Resilience Risk RCAs and control environment.
- Works closely with Strategic Change Oversight to risk assess and oversight material change programmes from planning through to execution, particularly in relation to embedding appropriate operational resilience at the outset.
- Responsible for the review of NFR internal and external events, providing insight and learnings.
- Support the coordination of the Vietnam Market Risk Culture Plan. This includes working closely with senior management to ensure a strong risk management culture and behaviour are effectively embedded across all levels in Vietnam.
Certifications, Qualifications & Experience
- Risk management knowledge and relevant experience and broad understanding of topics across resilience risk taxonomy.
- Ability to conduct research, analysis and consolidate information related to resilience risk areas in both intra group and external environment including regulations, international practice, market emerging trend/issue.
- Effective communication skill to clearly explain guidance, challenges, and recommendation to managers across the lines of business and other stakeholders.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the external environment (risk, regulatory, geopolitical, competitor etc.)
- Ability to challenge the status constructively and positively, leading relevant strategies/initiatives that enable safe growth of HSBC.
- Fluency in both Vietnamese and English is required.
- Experience of having worked on Risk management would be an advantage.
- A BA or BS University Degree, advanced degrees preferable.
