We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as an Business Development Associate – VNM.

Principal Accountabilities

Impact on the Business/Function

  • Acquire new-to-bank customers via: Bank-led deployments (e.g., activations/roadshows), Customer referrals, Self-sourced prospecting
  • Cross Sell Credit Cards, Personal Loans to existing and New to Bank customers
  • Identify opportunities for Mortgages
  • Migrate customers to use Digital solutions.
  • Engage customers confidently, understand their needs, and convert opportunities using needs-based selling.
  • Explain HSBC product features and benefits clearly and recommend suitable solutions.
  • Support customers with account opening, coordinating with relevant departments to complete required steps.
  • Manage post-application activities with internal stakeholders to ensure smooth processing and customer experience.
  • Deliver assigned KPIs and maximise revenue contribution.
  • Build positive, professional relationships with customers, stakeholders, and colleagues.

 

Maintain HSBC control standards and follow Group Compliance Policy to minimize operational risk by:

  • Follow internal control standards, Audit requirements, Group requirements, and other internal guidelines.
  • Ensure strict compliance with government banking regulations.
  • Stay alert to operational risks across people/process/systems/external events (e.g., fraud, unauthorised activities, errors/omissions, inefficiencies, system failures).
  • Escalate concerns to the line manager to assess impact, likelihood, and vulnerabilities.

 

Knowledge/Special Skills Requirements

 

  • Minimum diploma holder and prefer 1–3 year experience ideally in sales/customer acquisition within banking or channel sales.
  • Strong interest in sales and customer acquisition; proactive, target-driven, resilient in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to manage details and follow workflow/process steps accurately and efficiently.
  • Able to work independently, multitask, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Customer-oriented with strong communication skills; able to identify financial needs and refer appropriately.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office.
  • Fluent Vietnamese; English/Mandarin is an advantage
