If you’re looking for a career that will help you stand out, join HSBC and fulfil your potential. Whether you want a career that could take you to the top, or simply take you in an exciting new direction, HSBC offers opportunities, support and rewards that will take you further.

HSBC is one of the largest banking and financial services organizations in the world, with operations in 64 countries and territories. We aim to be where the growth is, enabling businesses to thrive and economies to prosper, and, ultimately, helping people to fulfil their hopes and realize their ambitions.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Assistant Vice President – Recovery and Resolution Planning.

Purpose of the role

This role supports and strengthens HSBC crisis readiness by helping ensure the bank can navigate – and emerge stronger from – periods of severe stress. As Recovery and Resolution Office Manager, you’ll help shape and continuously enhance Asia’s recovery and resolution planning, working closely with HSBC Group to develop the tools and insights that enable confident, timely decision-making when it matters most.

You’ll support the integration of resources, capabilities and execution playbooks into a single, coherent and regulator-ready framework, designed to enable the rapid restoration of viability under extreme scenarios. Working with a broad and senior stakeholder group, you’ll help influence the strategic options and recommendations that progress through the Operating Committee and ultimately to the Board.

In this role, you will:

  • Support the ongoing maintenance of the Recovery Plan and Management Action Framework. Help deliver training, fire drills and stress tests to assess and continuously improve the effectiveness of recovery actions, and/or produce the recovery indicator dashboard
  • Support the planning, coordination and delivery of regional crossbarrier testing and assurance activities, and/or regional restructuring planning activities
  • Maintain the RRO data management framework, ensuring strong data quality controls and accurate, timely reporting
  • Support the delivery of efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives, helping to embed sustainable ways of working aligned on How We Lead
  • Own timelines and assigned deliverables end-to-end, anticipating dependencies and securing inputs across stakeholders with pace

To be successful you will:

  • Hold a Postgraduate/graduate qualification with 10 years of experience preferably in Treasury or Finance regulatory areas (including Capital and/or Liquidity)
  • Understand and apply regulatory and internal requirements seeking guidance where appropriate, with preference for exposure to regulatory recovery and restructuring planning requirements
  • Organise work into a practical delivery plan (activities, owners, milestones) and keep it up to date
  • Coordinate across multiple teams, follow up actions, and surface risks, issues and dependencies in a timely way
  • Draft clear, well-structured materials (packs, minutes, trackers) and summarise complex inputs into straightforward messages
  • Build effective working relationships with colleagues across Risk, Finance, Treasury, Operations and the Business, and communicate confidently in group forums
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of MI and automation tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Alteryx), including building/maintaining  dashboards and producing management information reporting.

You’ll achieve more when you join HSBC.
