We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Business Continuity and Incident Management
- This role is responsible for implementation of BCIM program in the respective Global Service Centers (GSCs) within the Global Operations Structure. The jobholder is broadly responsible for overseeing programme Management in adherence to policy & supporting operating instructions, training, awareness, continuity readiness.
In this role, you will:
- Maintain a robust BCIM Program for GSC Operations under the span with effective implementation of Operating Instruction and framework documents on continuity, de-risking, recovery desking, BIA, contingency plans, exercising, etc. Promote Business resilience. Arrest concentration risk and mitigate concentration hot spots.
- Raise the profile of the department by engaging with key stakeholders to understand the challenges faced and anticipate emerging risks. Ensure self-growth to improve quality of productivity and contribute towards the teams’ growth. Promote Competency development of team.
- To establish a robust contingency plan covering all functions migrated from a wide range of HSBC Group companies, ensuring the overall risk is minimized in the event of an incident having a major impact on the operating environment.
- Continually reassess the operational risks associated with the role and inherent in the business, taking account of changing economic or market conditions, legal and regulatory requirements, operating instructions and practices, management restructurings, and the impact of new technology. This will be achieved by ensuring all actions take account of the likelihood of operational risk occurring. Also, by addressing any areas of concern in conjunction with line management and/or the appropriate department.
- Adherence to all internal controls including relevant operating instructions, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators is a key. Work as Incident Management lead and provide support as required.
- Mitigation of concentration risk through adherence to GSCs BCIM operating instruction and de-risking of existing concentration hot spots. Engagement with business service teams to provide functional support whenever / wherever required. Management Information Reporting on various regional/business dashboards.
- Effective planning, project, and customer relationship management to meet ambitious and aggressive migration plans for GSCs worldwide. Building positive relationships with Business partners, Centre Directors, Business Service & Function Heads and other stakeholders to provide effective contingency solutions covering a diverse range of businesses and associated processes.
- Assist line manager/supervisor with managing day-to-day operations and support peers on process if needed. Acts as a role model for our Group Values and Behaviors (Open, Connected, Dependable), supporting colleagues and customers to deliver superior customer service through these values.
- Support achievement of team objectives & participate in in development of cohesive teams. Participate in team meeting / team activities and work towards sustaining team spirit. Contribute to the creation of a supportive work environment driven by people centric values.
To be successful you will:
- Education: 3 Years Degree or above.Experience: 5 years in Operations / IT or any other risk function with at least 3 years in a team management role.Certification Recommended / Preferred: Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) or equivalent, CPBCM (Certified Professional in BCM) from DRII, Certified Business Continuity (CBCI) or equivalent from BCI.
- Experience gained in the financial services industry including experience of people and process management. Global Operations is an integral part of Digital Business Services (DBS) and delivers world-class services for HSBC's customers across its four global businesses (Retail Banking & Wealth Management; Commercial Banking; Global Banking and Markets; and Global Private Banking), who together serve customers in various territories in six geographical regions.
- Global Operations operates through a network of 15 Group Service Centres (GSC) across Europe, Asia Pacific & the Middle East.
- The operations & management of GSCs cover a wide spectrum of sizes, nature of business, technical sophistication and diverse operating environments with focus on the delivery of a highly professional customer focused service and a continuous drive for improvement in service and cost effectiveness. The nature of the services provided is such that processing or project delays or errors would result in poor customer service or losses to the Group.
- The role of every member of the Risk team is thus very critical in such an environment as they have the primary responsibility for protecting the people, assets, operations and information by identifying and mitigating the various risks and evolving threats that both GSCs faces.
- BCIM teams define and implement standards for both business continuity management and incident management which are designed to enable the Bank to respond effectively in mitigating the impacts of any business disruption or major incident
