Principal responsibilities
Technology leadership for the Client Distribution pillar
- Lead the end-to-end technology agenda for the Client Distribution pillar within DSG.
- Translate business and product strategy into a clear technology roadmap and execution plan.
- Partner with the Business Lead and Product Owner Lead to define priorities, sequencing, and delivery outcomes.
- Ensure technology decisions support the pillar strategy, client experience goals, and long-term platform scalability.
- Position AI Markets effectively as the digital distribution front door for DSG, ensuring the underlying technology supports a seamless, scalable, and differentiated client experience.
- Represent the pillar in DSG-wide technology planning, governance, and prioritisation forums.
AI-enabled platform and digital capability leadership
- Provide technology leadership for AI-enabled client distribution capabilities, including intelligent workflows, digital content delivery, data-driven services, and agentic or assisted user experiences where relevant.
- Ensure AI capabilities are implemented in a way that is scalable, supportable, explainable where needed, and aligned with business value.
- Partner with product, engineering, and control stakeholders to embed AI responsibly into client-facing workflows and services.
- Bring sufficient understanding of AI/LLM-enabled platforms, orchestration patterns, and operational considerations to guide design decisions and delivery trade-offs.
- Ensure AI-enabled solutions are integrated into the broader digital platform architecture rather than developed as isolated point solutions.
Delivery and execution
- Own technology delivery across the Client Distribution portfolio, ensuring execution against committed outcomes, timelines, and quality standards.
- Drive coordinated delivery across engineering teams, platform teams, architecture, control functions, and dependent pillars.
- Ensure delivery is pragmatic, transparent, and aligned to business value.
- Manage delivery risks, dependencies, and trade-offs across a complex stakeholder landscape.
- Promote disciplined execution, clear accountability, and strong delivery governance.
Platform, architecture, and engineering direction
- Shape the target technology architecture for Client Distribution in alignment with DSG and enterprise direction.
- Ensure solutions are scalable, resilient, secure, and reusable where appropriate.
- Drive engineering quality, technical consistency, and sound lifecycle management across the pillar.
- Partner with horizontal pillars and shared platform teams to leverage common capabilities and avoid fragmented solutions.
- Support modernisation of client-facing platforms, APIs, workflow services, and digital channel capabilities.
- Ensure AI and digital distribution capabilities are built on strong platform foundations with appropriate observability, supportability, and lifecycle controls.
Production stability and operational readiness
- Be accountable for the operational health and production readiness of technology services within the pillar.
- Ensure appropriate support models, monitoring, controls, resilience, and incident management disciplines are in place.
- Drive continuous improvement in platform stability, service quality, and operational maturity.
- Ensure new capabilities are production-ready and supported by appropriate runbooks, controls, and service ownership.
- Oversee remediation of production issues and structural improvements to reduce recurring incidents.
Governance, risk, and control
- Ensure the pillar operates within appropriate technology governance, risk, and control frameworks.
- Bring a strong control mindset to all aspects of delivery and platform management, particularly for client-facing and AI-enabled capabilities.
- Ensure solutions are designed and operated with appropriate controls around data usage, access, model governance, resilience, auditability, and change management.
- Partner closely with control, risk, cybersecurity, architecture, and governance teams to ensure solutions are well-managed and sustainable at scale.
- Support effective management of audit, security, resilience, and regulatory expectations relevant to the platform estate.
- Drive disciplined change management, release governance, and lifecycle controls across the pillar.
Stakeholder management and organisational leadership
- Build strong partnerships across business, product, engineering, infrastructure, cybersecurity, architecture, and control teams.
- Provide clear leadership communication on strategy, delivery progress, risks, and decisions.
- Align stakeholders across competing priorities while maintaining focus on pillar outcomes.
- Contribute to DSG leadership discussions on technology direction, operating model, and execution priorities.
- Act as a senior technology leader for the pillar, fostering collaboration, accountability, and high standards.
People and team leadership
- Lead and develop technology teams aligned to the Client Distribution pillar.
- Set clear expectations on engineering quality, ownership, delivery discipline, and collaboration.
- Build a strong leadership culture focused on execution, resilience, continuous improvement, and control awareness.
- Support organisation design, capability build-out, and talent development as the pillar evolves.
Scope of the pillar
- The Client Distribution pillar supports digital client channels and services across institutional and corporate client workflows, including:
- Sophisticated pre-trade workflows
- Pricing and execution
- Post-trade and chat-enabled workflows
- Channels including web, mobile, chat, and API-based distribution
- Content and services including platform-based data feeds, risk services, AI Markets Premium, and data / AI-enabled / agentic workflows and services
- AI Markets is a core part of this pillar as the distribution front door for DSG, providing a unified digital entry point for client and user interaction with DSG capabilities.
Knowledge & Experience / Qualifications
Experience
- Significant experience in senior technology leadership roles within digital platforms, electronic channels, or client-facing enterprise technology.
- Proven track record leading complex technology delivery across multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Experience owning large-scale platforms or product-aligned technology domains with both build and run accountability.
- Strong experience in managing technology strategy, architecture direction, and execution in a controlled enterprise environment.
- Experience working closely with business and product leadership in a high-demand delivery setting.
- Experience with AI-enabled products, intelligent workflow platforms, or data-driven digital capabilities in an enterprise setting is strongly preferred.
Skills and capabilities
