We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Sr. Associate Director, Software Engineering.

Principal responsibilities
- Lead the initial stage of initiatives (intake, discovery framing, sizing, prioritisation, and mobilisation).
- Define and maintain the value stream roadmap, ensuring alignment to Cards strategy, regulatory needs, and technology direction.
- Drive project planning and estimation across the value stream (scope, milestones, resourcing, cost, benefits, risks).
- Establish and run portfolio governance routines (e.g., prioritisation forums, planning checkpoints, RAID reviews).
- Track delivery health across the portfolio and ensure timely escalation and decision-making.
- Act as a key interface between Product Owners, Business Sponsors, Technology Leads, Architecture, Engineering, and Change/Operations.
- Translate business outcomes into delivery-ready plans and ensure shared understanding of scope, constraints, and trade-offs.
- Identify and manage cross-team and cross-region dependencies (platforms, vendors, data, security, operations).
- Partner with engineering leadership to align capacity, skills, and sequencing to the roadmap.
- Ensure initiatives have clear value cases, measurable outcomes, and benefits tracking approach.
- Promote continuous improvement in planning accuracy, throughput, and stakeholder transparency.
Requirements
- Portfolio / programme delivery experience in technology environments, with strong capability in planning, estimation, and mobilisation.
- Proven experience working as a business–technology integrator, able to influence and align stakeholders at multiple levels.
- Strong understanding of Cards products and lifecycle, such as credit/debit card journeys, authorisation, clearing & settlement, disputes/chargebacks, fraud, servicing, and digital channels (depth in one or more areas is fine).
- Solid knowledge of project delivery lifecycle (initiation → discovery → delivery → release), including governance, risk management, and delivery controls.
- Experience with value stream / agile delivery concepts (e.g., epics/features, PI planning concepts, lean prioritisation, dependency mapping).
- Strong communication skills: able to produce clear roadmaps, plans, status reporting, and executive-ready updates.
- Comfortable working in a global, matrixed organisation, managing ambiguity and driving decisions.
