We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Associate Director, Software Engineering.

Business: IWPB Technology

Principal responsibilities

  • Software Engineering & Architecture Leadership:
    • Lead end‑to‑end design and development of scalable, secure, high‑performance backend and integration services (Java/Spring, RESTful APIs, event/messaging patterns) underpinning Private Banking / CRM journeys.
    • Define architecture patterns (service decomposition, domain boundaries, API/versioning strategy, caching, resilience, performance optimization) and ensure consistent adoption across squads.
    • Guide integration of engineered services with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse) through well-governed custom connectors and reusable interface contracts.
    • Establish and enforce coding standards, code review rigor, test strategy (unit, contract, integration, performance), and quality metrics to reduce defect leakage and rework.
    • Champion reuse (shared libraries, SDKs, schema models, component abstractions) to accelerate delivery and lower long‑term maintenance cost.
  • Agile Delivery & Scrum Master Responsibilities:
    • Act as senior Scrum Master / delivery coach: facilitate ceremonies, refine backlog to clear, testable stories, and maintain predictable sprint/PI outcomes.
    • Proactively identify and remove delivery impediments (dependencies, environment readiness, ambiguity in requirements) before they impact milestones.
    • Use engineering & flow metrics (throughput, lead time, code quality indicators, escaped defects) to drive continuous improvement and capacity planning.
    • Mentor engineers in design thinking, refactoring, performance tuning, secure coding, and effective test automation practices.
  • Stakeholder Management & Collaboration:
    • Partner with Product Owners, architects, security, data, and regional business stakeholders to translate strategic outcomes into executable technical roadmaps with clear value hypotheses.
    • Provide structured option analyses (complexity, extensibility, latency, operational cost, regulatory impact) to inform prioritization and architectural decisions.
    • Maintain transparent communication on progress, risks, technical debt, and trade‑offs; ensure early surfacing of requirement gaps.
    • Foster a collaborative, psychologically safe engineering culture encouraging innovation and accountable delivery.
  • Private Banking Technology Oversight:
    • Align solutions with Private Banking / CRM domain needs (client lifecycle, onboarding, suitability, regulatory reporting) while meeting data confidentiality, residency, and audit trace requirements.
    • Validate non‑functional readiness (performance baselines, scalability, resilience, security posture, observability coverage) prior to release.
    • Anticipate regulatory and operational change drivers and embed controls early (logging, entitlements, segregation of duties) to avoid retrofit costs.
    • Guide incremental modernization (legacy integration remediation, interface consolidation, schema evolution) while safeguarding delivery commitments.

Knowledge & Experience/Qualifications

  • University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years progressive software engineering experience (backend/API, integration, platform services) in regulated financial services; multi‑team technical leadership exposure.
  • Advanced hands‑on proficiency in Java/Spring (Boot, MVC, integration), RESTful API design, performance tuning, resilience, and secure coding.
  • Strong experience integrating with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Dataverse) via custom connectors and governed data models.
  • Proven track record defining and enforcing architecture & coding standards, test strategies, and quality metrics at scale.
  • Demonstrated Agile leadership (Scrum/Kanban/SAFe) including backlog shaping, dependency management, and improving predictability.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, analytical decision-making, and concise technical communication skills.
  • Domain knowledge in Private Banking / CRM (regulatory, data governance, client servicing) required.
  • Familiarity with frontend frameworks (React/Angular/Vue) and micro frontend/component reuse patterns beneficial.
  • Working knowledge of foundational DevOps concepts (CI pipelines, test automation integration, basic observability) sufficient to partner with platform/DevOps teams—deep DevOps specialization not required.
  • Preferred certifications: Agile (CSM or equivalent), Power Platform, Java, or Cloud (Azure).
