We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Sr. Associate Director, Software Engineering.

 

Business: Chief Commercial Officer Tech

 

Principal responsibilities

  • Define and implement global technology product strategy aligned with leadership vision and architectural principles.
  • Partner with product owners to build multi‑release roadmaps for new products/features (functional + non‑functional: scalability, latency, security).
  • Translate business & stakeholder requirements into a globally scalable, low‑debt technology product backlog.
  • Drive architectural decisions (domain boundaries, APIs, data models, integration patterns, micro‑frontend/microservice decomposition).
  • Ensure engineering teams clearly understand requirements; balance delivery speed with refactoring and technical debt remediation.
  • Establish and enforce coding standards, secure SDLC practices, architectural review gates, and design documentation.
  • Champion test strategy (unit/integration/contract/performance/security) and automation coverage targets.
  • Advance DevOps culture: CI/CD pipelines, trunk‑based or GitOps workflows, automated environment provisioning.
  • Embed observability (structured logging, metrics, tracing), SLOs, performance budgets, and proactive capacity planning.
  • Integrate reliability engineering (incident response playbooks, chaos/resilience testing).
  • Collect and analyze feedback (customers, stakeholders, telemetry) to refine technical roadmap and quality initiatives.
  • Monitor industry trends; recommend pragmatic adoption (e.g., AI coding assistants, infra as code, event streaming).
  • Lead, motivate, mentor, and coach multiple engineering teams; build succession and growth paths.
  • Build and retain high‑performing teams (hiring, onboarding, skill matrix).
  • Uphold compliance, security, privacy, and deliver fair customer outcomes for regulated markets.

 

Qualifications

  • Proven end‑to‑end product lifecycle management.
  • Hands‑on software engineering background (backend + API design; preferably banking/transaction systems).
  • Strong experience in scalable architectures (microservices, modular monolith, micro‑frontend) and integration (REST/GraphQL/events).
  • Deep knowledge of software design patterns, domain modeling, data access strategies, caching, and performance tuning.
  • Demonstrated implementation of CI/CD pipelines, automated quality gates (lint, tests, security scan, dependency audit).
  • Solid grasp of secure coding practices (authN/Z, encryption, secrets management, OWASP).
  • Experience with infrastructure automation (containers, Kubernetes, IaC).
  • Observability mindset: metrics, tracing, logging, alerting, SLO management.
  • Agile delivery expertise (Scrum/Kanban, iterative planning) with Jira/Confluence.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, and cross‑functional leadership.
  • Ability to provide thought leadership, drive complex change, challenge status quo.
  • Problem‑solving and creative thinking in ambiguous multi‑region environments.
