We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Software Engineer.

Principal responsibilities

• Participate in technical design of features with guidance.

• Take ownership and accountability for production incidents, in terms of timely communication, escalation and incident hygiene.

• Identify potential system improvements and explain their benefits.

• Support the establishment of a digital environment and automate processes to minimize variation and ensure predictable high-quality code and data

• Continuously contribute to code, ensuring compliance with all relevant controls and standards including relevant Service Management Standard.

• Keep up-to-date and have an understanding of the specific impact of the functional delivery, the business context of change and how a delivery may impact other functional areas.

• Lead production incident reviews for the team.

Knowledge & Experience/Qualifications

• Leverage MS Power App and Power BI for workflow optimization.            

• Provide application production support for Cloud services (Azure).    

• Own the DevOps development experience and understand the Azure DevOps.       

• Address vendor system issues, collaborate with IT teams to identify root causes, and improve system performance.      

• Apply strong analytical, oral, and written communication skills to resolve IT project challenges.

• Manage projects using agile practices, such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives, and tools like PowerPoint, JIRA, Confluence, ServiceNow, SharePoint, and Qliksense

• Deliver impactful presentations and summaries, prioritize tasks efficiently, and oversee governance processes for systems like EHC and Datavisa.            

• Quickly adapt to new systems and resolve production incidents for HSBC users.

• Demonstrated experience in production support and IT project management.

• Proficiency in Cloud services (AWS, Azure) and database management (MySQL, SQL Server).

• Expertise in scripting languages like Python.

• Familiarity with MS Power App, Power BI

• Experience with agile methodologies and tools like JIRA, Confluence, ServiceNow, SharePoint, and Qliksense.

• Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

• Knowledge on Insurance domain would be preferable.
