Principal responsibilities

*Lead the design, build, and evolution of iOS features using SwiftUI (and where relevant, Objective‑C) to support priority customer journeys and growth use cases.
*Partner with Product Owners, Designers, and Architects to shape requirements into clear, deliverable technical solutions, producing robust engineering designs and estimates.
*Own and drive iOS architecture and technical direction, including modularisation, dependency management, navigation, state management, and design patterns to keep the codebase scalable and maintainable.
*Set expectations for quality and build it in, establishing and maintaining automated testing (unit, integration, UI) and improving test strategy and coverage.
*Improve delivery reliability and pace by optimising CI/CD pipelines, code review practices, and release processes to make delivery repeatable and stable.
*Lead production readiness and operational excellence, working with SRE/operations and security partners on monitoring and alerting, troubleshooting, defect fixes, performance tuning, and post‑incident reviews with clear follow-ups.
*Collaborate across regions and mentor engineers, driving consistent engineering standards and sharing best practices through forums such as show‑and‑tells and technical knowledge sessions.

Requirements

*Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
*Strong, hands-on iOS engineering experience using Swift, with deep knowledge of UIKit and exposure to SwiftUI where appropriate; solid understanding of concurrency, networking, persistence, and performance/memory management.
*Proficient with iOS build and dependency management tooling, including Xcode, Swift Package Manager (and/or CocoaPods/Carthage as relevant), and confident working with build configurations and release signing.
*Proven technical leadership in iOS architecture and engineering practices, including modularisation, layered design, design patterns, code reviews, refactoring, managing technical debt, and designing for testability and long-term maintainability.
*Strong quality mindset and test automation experience: unit testing is essential (e.g. XCTest); UI automation (e.g. XCUITest) is a plus.
*Strong API integration and resilience skills, including REST/JSON, robust error handling, and retry/fallback patterns; working knowledge of observability concepts (logs, metrics, traces) to support production operations.
*Comfortable leading delivery in agile teams, with practical experience using tools such as Jira and Confluence.
*Excellent communication and stakeholder management, able to align teams, drive decisions, and deliver consistently across multiple regions and time zones.
