We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Consultant Specialist.

Principal responsibilities:

• Design, build and deliver AI solutions for prioritised business and technology use cases, from prototype through to production.
• Partner with business and technology SMEs to translate processes into agent workflows, including decision points, approval gates, exception handling, and evidence requirements.
• Build natural language interfaces that enable users to query, summarise, and explore risk data safely, accurately, and with appropriate controls; integrate AI agents with risk platforms and services.
• Define and implement evaluation frameworks to measure accuracy, explanation quality, hallucination risk, control effectiveness, task completion, latency, and cost.
• Support production deployment and ongoing operations, including monitoring, observability, prompt/version control, regression testing, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure solutions comply with technology standards and relevant requirements across data privacy, information security, model risk, operational risk, and audit.
• Coach and support other engineers, helping to uplift AI engineering standards and practices across the department.

Knowledge & Experience/Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Statistics, Software Engineering, or a related discipline; AI/ML-focused education is preferred.
• Demonstrable hands-on experience designing, building, and deploying end-to-end AI-powered applications, including prompt engineering, tool/function calling, Model Context Protocol (MCP), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), agentic workflows, and structured outputs.
• Strong grounding in machine learning fundamentals (supervised/unsupervised learning, evaluation methods, bias/variance trade-offs, and feature engineering).
• Practical experience with model selection and deployment strategies (open-source vs hosted models), and fine-tuning approaches where appropriate.
• Strong software engineering capability in Python and Java and/or TypeScript, with 5+ years’ experience delivering, operating, and supporting production systems.
• Solid understanding of MLOps practices, including CI/CD, containerisation, automated testing, model registries, experiment tracking, and reproducible builds.
• Experience with data engineering and feature engineering on large datasets, including metadata management, data lineage, and data quality controls.
• Product mindset with strong stakeholder collaboration skills; able to translate business processes into agent workflows with clear, measurable outcomes (e.g., cycle time reduction, improved accuracy, higher containment).
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, particularly when dealing with ambiguous data issues and non-deterministic LLM behaviour; able to diagnose issues using logs, traces, and evaluation results.
• Working knowledge of model risk management and Responsible AI, including prompt governance, AI observability, LLM evaluation, and operational risk considerations.
