We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Consultant Specialist.

Business: Asia & Middle East Technology 

Principal responsibilities

• Lead and coach an API design team to deliver end-to-end API designs for programme/project outcomes.
• Own API design governance for the domain, ensuring consistency, reuse, and interoperability across products, channels, and markets.
• Drive domain-aligned API modelling and contract-first design, ensuring APIs reflect agreed domain standards and data definitions.
• Partner with Product Owners, Architects, Engineering, and Platform teams to translate business requirements into clear API designs and delivery-ready specifications.
• Manage design lifecycle activities (discovery, design reviews, sign-off readiness), reducing late changes and delivery risk.
• Ensure API designs meet non-functional expectations (e.g., resilience, scalability, security, observability) appropriate to critical customer journeys.
• Promote good documentation and discoverability so APIs are easy to consume and reuse.
• Identify and resolve cross-system dependencies and integration constraints, balancing short-term delivery needs with long-term maintainability.

Requirements

• Strong experience leading API design in large-scale, regulated environments.
• Proven ability to apply domain-driven thinking and standardized data/contract approaches.
• Solid understanding of modern API patterns and integration practices.
• Track record of influencing stakeholders and driving alignment across multiple teams.
• Comfortable working with legacy constraints while progressing towards target-state architecture.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and decision-making skills.
• Teams deliver consistent, domain-aligned APIs with high reuse and low variation.
• Faster delivery with fewer late-stage design changes and smoother integration.
• Improved quality and operational robustness of APIs supporting key journeys.
