We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Consultant Specialist.

Principal responsibilities

• Design, implement and deploy enhancements to HSBC’s electronic trading platform within timeline and with high quality
• Take ownership, support and optimize what you and your colleagues have designed and developed
• Collaborate with software engineers in other time zones
• Reduce toil, tech debt and repetitive tasks by automation 

Knowledge & Experience/Qualifications 

• 5+ years of hands-on software engineering of low-latency or real-time systems
• Java proficiency required, including concurrency, tuning, and memory management
• Good command of Linux/UNIX command line interface
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills, and self-motivated
• Solid on OOAD, experienced on Test-Driven Development is must
• Good command in spoken and written English as working language

What additional skills will be good to have?

• Using agentic AI for software maintenance
• Experience with container runtimes (Podman, Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes)
• Familiarity with message passing systems such as Kafka and Aeron
• Practicing data-driven optimizations (profiling, metrics collection)
• Working-knowledge of CI/CD techniques
