We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Business Analyst.
Business: CTO Data Technology
Principal responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end BA delivery across Data Control initiatives: DMOV, DSTO, DQ, and retention/lifecycle controls.
- Elicit, analyse, and document requirements; translate into epics/features/user stories with clear acceptance criteria and traceability.
- Define requirements for ingestion, storage patterns/tiering, and distribution, including interfaces, mappings, dependencies, and NFRs.
- Drive data retention and disposal requirements (retention schedules, legal holds, exceptions), ensuring solutions are implementable and auditable.
- Embed governance, risk, and control requirements (classification, access, auditability, metadata/lineage) into delivery outcomes.
- Support SIT/UAT, defect triage, release readiness, and BAU handover.
- Manage senior stakeholders, facilitate workshops, and coach junior BAs to raise analysis quality and consistency.
Requirements
- Strong BA experience delivering complex technology change (Agile and/or hybrid).
- Solid knowledge of data movement and storage concepts (batch/streaming, landing/curation layers, tiering).
- Demonstrable experience defining data retention/lifecycle requirements and translating them into delivery-ready stories and controls.
- Strong stakeholder management across Technology, Data Governance, and control/risk teams.
- Excellent facilitation and documentation skills; able to turn ambiguity into structured, testable requirements.
- Experience with cloud/hybrid data platforms, data catalogue, and lineage tooling.
- Working knowledge of privacy/security controls (masking, tokenisation, encryption, audit logging).
- Experience operating within a financial services control environment.
- SQL and/or data profiling experience to validate requirements and DQ rules.
- PMP / PRINCE2 (or equivalent) certification.
- BCBS 239 practical experience in a bank (e.g., lineage, DQ controls, ownership/stewardship, governance/audit evidence).
- Able to work with limited documentation; proactive, self-sufficient, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
- Strong English communication and collaboration skills across global teams/time zones.
- Continuous improvement mindset and curiosity to understand how platforms/systems work end-to-end.
What additional skills will be good to have?
- Prior experience working with Architecture Engineering / Solution Architecture teams.
- 6+ years in data-focused delivery/analysis.
- 3+ years working in Agile/DevOps environments.
- Typical tools:Jira/Confluence, Visio/Lucidchart/Miro, SQL/query & profiling tools, catalogue/metadata tools.
