We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Business Analyst.

 

Principal responsibilities

•      Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders to elicit and document business requirements for transaction monitoring systems, ensuring alignment with organizational goals

•      Customer Journey Analysis: Analyze the customer journey to identify potential fraud risks and design systems that enhance customer experience while effectively mitigating those risks.

•      System Design: Work closely with technical teams to translate business requirements into functional specifications for fraud detection systems, ensuring they meet user needs and regulatory standards

•      Stakeholder Communication: Facilitate communication between business units and technical teams, ensuring all parties are informed and aligned throughout the project lifecycle.

•      Testing and Validation: Assist in the testing and validation of fraud detection systems to ensure they function as intended and meet business requirements.

•      Continuous Improvement: Recommend improvements to existing processes and systems based on feedback and performance metrics.

•      Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including risk management, technology, data analytics, and business units, to ensure effective communication and collaboration throughout the project lifecycle.

•      Provide regular updates to senior management and relevant stakeholders on project progress, risks, and issues.

•      Act as a subject matter expert on non-financial risk management, providing guidance and support to internal teams as needed.

 

Requirements

•    This role requires a strong self-starter with strong change delivery skills who enjoys the challenge of delivering change within tight deadlines 

•    Structured and organized analyst with strong data and business analysis skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities

•    A good understanding of the control requirement surrounding data handling will be advantageous in this role

•    Assess the operational risks as part of the analysis and implementation planning and execution in conjunction with delivery managers

•    Maintains HSBC internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators

•    Proven experience as a Business Analyst within the financial services industry. Experience on consulting and/or risk management is an advantage.

•    Strong understanding of commercial banking operations and the associated risks, particularly related to mule risk.

•    Proficient in data analysis tools and techniques, with experience in advanced analytics and visualization tools (e.g., SQL, Python, Tableau).

•    Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

•    Detail-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to accuracy and quality.

•    Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a cross-functional team environment.

•    Knowledge of relevant regulatory requirements and industry best practices in financial crime prevention is highly desirable.
